Dear Parents,
At this time of year we reflect on things that we are thankful for and I honestly must say that I am so thankful I am here at Flagstaff. I am absolutely loving the challenge of learning new curriculum standards, new parent and community expectations, and of course, the ever wonderful state assessments!! But most of all, I am loving getting to know your children. The best parts of my day are greeting them at the front door each morning and saying goodbye to them as they leave for home in the afternoon. Their enthusiasm, their excitement for learning, and their pure joy and amazement at things we often take for granted leave me speechless.

I want to thank each and every one of you for entrusting your children to our care. I promise we do not take that trust lightly - they are not just your children, but they are a part of a much larger family - the Dragon family.

Have a safe and restful Thanksgiving. I am heading to Texas to visit my children and grandchildren, but I look forward to seeing everyone back healthy and happy on the 30th!

Take care,

Robin Lowe ,
Executive Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

You'll find your child's report card in their Friday Folder. This will be the final paper copy of report cards you will receive. In the future, as they are now, they will be made available on Infinite Campus. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or your child's teacher.

Assistant Principal, Elementary School

We are very excited to announce that we are piloting a PM Kindergarten Class, starting in the 2016-2017 School Year. This initiative will reduce overall class sizes throughout our Kindergarten program, as well as fulfill the increased demand for a PM Kindergarten class.

To enroll your child in Kindergarten, we encourage you to come to the in-person/onsite Open Enrollment Kickoff event on Saturday, December 5 from 10:00-11:00AM, or online starting at 11:00AM.

If you are a current pre-kindergarten parent, you MUST apply for Kindergarten enrollment. As a current Flagstaff family, your application will be given priority preference.

Depending on the response we receive during the Enrollment Application period, we will make be able to make an informed decision on whether there is enough interest  to fill an afternoon kindergarten class and reduce class sizes.

If you have any questions, please contact Sheila Strukel, Registrar at or 720-864-9090.

Our Weekly Tuesday Tours are going strong!  Principal Lowe will be leading our weekly tours, joined by other members of our wonderful staff. Weekly Tuesday Tours run from November 2015-May 2016.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This fall, we were one of the only schools in the area offering 100 Mile Club activities after school. We are so happy for the amazing response and interest of our students and parents for this physical activity program. Unfortunately, we have learned throughout this semester that there are just too many logistical and facility challenges to continue the after school 100 Mile Club program.

We will continue to run the after school 100 Mile Club program through December 2015.  When we return from Winter Break in January 2016, we will only hold 100 Mile Club before school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 7:15-7:45 a.m. We are announcing this change now to provide families opportunity to adjust their after school schedules and child care options as needed prior to January 2016.

We will attempt to offer more weekend events to help kids maintain their momentum from the fall. Thank you for understanding and your support of the 100 Mile Club.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns,

Wayne Granger
Executive Director

The revised 100-mile club schedule, effective January 4, 2016, is below:

Morning Practices - M, T, Th, and F 7:15-7:45 a.m.

Driveline Ending before 4:00 p.m. on a Regular Basis!

Due to the cooperation of our Flagstaff families and the efforts of the Driveline Team, Afternoon Driveline is running smoothly and ending before 4:00 p.m. on a regular basis.

End of Day Driveline Pickup Awareness

As  Driveline  is completed, our staff is ready to finish up their work and head home. If you are planning on picking up children at the end of  Driveline , please be courteous to our staff by arriving by  3:50 p.m. for the final wave . Recently, there has been an excess of cars arriving after  Driveline  has ended which holds up staff and causes issues at the front office.

Thank you for your help and cooperation!
