Check out this message from MOPOP about a great opportunity - The MOPOP Residency!
Greetings from the Museum of Pop Culture (MOPOP)!
We’re excited to share a new opportunity for your students and local community: The MOPOP Residency, launching October 2026!
This free after-school creative playground for young storytellers will explore a rotating lineup of music, film, fashion, and gaming. The Residency invites students to drop in for a day or commit to the full run, generously supported by Allen Family Philanthropies.
This fall, MOPOP is working with Seattle Children's Theatre, giving aspiring performers the chance to build confidence, stretch their creativity, and discover what happens when imagination takes center stage. From improv and storytelling to writing and genre-bending, students will learn alongside industry professionals in a welcoming, collaborative environment.
Residency highlights:
- Free for all participants
- ASL Interpreters at every session
- Drop-in format: Join any single session or attend an entire residency
- No prior experience required! Open to all skill levels
- Open to ages 7-17, with students welcome on their own or with an adult
-
Limited to 20 participants per session (RSVP recommended but not required)
This program was designed to make high-quality creative learning accessible to all young people in our community. By offering free after-school workshops rooted in diverse pop culture experiences, the MOPOP Residency welcomes local children to explore, create, and participate.
