Drawing Closer to Nature
Paintings by Lori Hayes, Susan Ross and Melissa Staiger

The Lutheran Church of the Messiah and the Puffin Foundation are pleased to present Drawing Closer to Nature, a three-person exhibition of abstract paintings by Lori Hayes, Susan Ross and Melissa Staiger. The exhibition and planned public programming explore the connection between the natural environment and art, and the need for greater awareness of both.

The church supports a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) group, in which the public has formed a relationship with a local farm. By making a financial commitment to the farm, people are "shareholders" of the CSA and receive weekly organic produce. In conjunction with the bounty of CSA fruits and vegetables, the colors and forms of exhibited work by artists Hayes, Ross and Staiger highlight the precious aspects of nature and the natural world, which is in need of attention. All exhibited art work is for sale, and 20% will be donated back to the church for the CSA and for their future art exhibitions and performances.

For more information, contact Susan Ross at 917-753-2735 or susanross1203@hotmail.com, or Melissa Staiger at 917-923-8096 or melissastaiger@yahoo.com.
