Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant:
The surprise death of Senator Lindsay Graham in the USA awakens us to this Truth as to life in James 4:14: " It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away."
This life is very brief. You and I in this brief lifetime are called to draw near to God to be part of His kingdom of priests, jew and gentile. We are now in His flock; He is the shepherd. (John 10:16) (Ephesians 2:13-18)
The Israelites were to have become a kingdom of priests and a holy nation (Exodus 19:6). You might even say that Eden, until the disobedience of Adam and Eve, was more than a garden; it was a sacred space where humanity walked with God and served in His presence.
Today, thanks to the Perfect Lamb's blood, those who have confessed their sins, repented, chosen by faith Jesus as Savior, have truly entered Jesus' Kingdom and have received the Holy Spirit, now are: "a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light" (1 Peter 2:9).
Today we each are to "draw near [ to God ] with a true heart in full assurance of faith." (Hebrews 10:22). You and I are called to be " priests of God and of Christ, and to reign with Him a thousand years." (Revelation 20:6)
From Eden to Israel to the body of Messiah, God has always desired a people who dwell in His presence and minister before Him. The Hebrew word for priest is kohen (כֹּהֵן). At its heart, priesthood is about drawing near to God. The priest stood in the presence of God, carrying the needs of the people before God and representing God's heart to the people.
As priests today, we are called to do the same. We are worshippers who minister to the Lord, watchmen who remain alert to His voice, intercessors who stand in the gap for others.
It's time to draw near to God. Please join me in this prayer: " Heavenly Father, please forgive me for failing to claim fully my place in Your royal priesthood. Please help me get back on Your narrow path to the holiness to which You call me. Thank you for Your gift of repentance and Your forgiveness. Please lift me up as I return to You. I love You. Thank You Holy Spirit for Your love. In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen and amen. "

National Day of Repentance is a Christian ministry founded in 2011 with the sole focus of encouraging God's gift of repentance. While the focus was initially on the USA and days of national repentance, today National Day of Repentance also encourages personal repentance and days of repentance in Africa and Australia, supporting 17 repentance-preaching pastors in ten nations. Each of the seventeen needs ongoing support, even as they often go forward with a zeal to preach repentance without food.
