Mychal Threets spread so much Library Joy at the Downtown Library on Sunday!

April is Autism Acceptance Month. On April 11 at the Downtown Library, celebrate with Dream Achievers Band, a music ensemble made up of talented musicians with Autism. Founded in 2011, Dream Achievers repertoire includes more than 400 songs that range from classical music to jazz/hip hop, Latin, kid-songs and traditional cultural music. These musicians strive to bring hope and serve as musical ambassadors—shining examples that individuals with “disabilities” have many special “abilities.” Learn more

Redwood City Public Library is proud to present Harvesting Dreams / Cosechando Sueños, a powerful exhibition on view April 1 through April 30. Join us for an opening reception on Thursday, April 2, from 6-7:30pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. Meet the artist and hear the stories of the farmworkers featured in the exhibition.

Organized by CARON, Coastside Hope and Puente de la Costa Sur, and featuring the photography of José Luis Aguirre.

Just one more week until the 2026 Redwood City Kiwanis Farmers Market season kicks off!

Established in 1979 as the Peninsula’s oldest farmers market, it continues to support local farmers and bring fresh produce to the community.

Join us for an evening of storytelling and dialogue on Tuesday, April 21 from 5:30-8pm, held at Sequoia High School.

This year’s theme centers youth voices, as young panelists share their experiences, perspectives and ideas for change. Together, community members will explore ways to build trust and create more welcoming spaces for youth in Redwood City.

10K Youth Visions

What if the future you imagine could actually shape the policies you inherit?

The Futures Commission is gathering 10,000 youth visions (ages 24 & under) to create a real “Future of Mental Health & Wellbeing Agenda” that will go to the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and local policymakers in May 2026.

Your vision will:

• Shape real policy prototypes tested in our community
• Inform decisions on climate, housing, education, tech, and mental health
• Help create youth seats with VOTING POWER on all boards and commissions
