Green Schools Challenge
Enrollment is still open for the 2021-2022 Green Schools Challenge! The GSC is a program that provides free environmental lessons aimed at molding the next generation of environmental stewards.

Through this program we offer free online sustainability curriculum aligned with state standards, professional development training for all teachers enrolled, STEM designation and grants of up to $350 for schools to implement green initiatives.

Participation in the Green Schools Challenge is voluntary but will give both students and teachers access to special incentives including grants and access to lessons and opportunities developed with partners including the Ocean Conservancy, the National Wildlife Federation, Live Arts Miami (MDC), FIU, Solar United Neighbors, and more.

Give Miami Day
SAVE THE DATE! The Miami Foundation is celebrating 10 years of Give Miami Day! Celebrate with us by giving on November 18th. Your gift will go towards providing free environmental education programs to students, professional development training to educators and mini grants to fund green projects at schools.
GSC Partner Highlight
Dream in Green has partnered with Solar United Neighbors, a nonprofit that educates homeowners about solar energy and provides consumer protection and support to those looking to go solar!

Together, we have created lessons for preK-12 students to:
  • perform energy audits at school
  • explore heat islands and their effects
  • research energy burdens and solutions

DIG Team - Environmental Leaders
Sadeddine Meroua is thrilled to join Dream in Green for the Fall 2021 as the Community Solutions Program Fellow, a professional leadership development program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. She holds a Master's degree in pollution and environment and has been an activist in environmental science awareness and waste management in her home of Algeria.

As part of CSP, she will bring her skills and expertise in organizing programs for school aged students to collaborate with DIG to develop impactful programs to help young children and teachers in understanding the environmental issues they are faced with today.

This is DIG's 3rd year hosting a CSP Fellow and is excited for Meroua to join the team and a worldwide network through the Community Solution Program.
Isabella Herrera (she/her) is an undergraduate student at Florida International University and will be graduating with a degree in Sustainability and the Environment with a minor in Marine Biology. She is currently interning with Dream in Green through F.I.U.'s Tropical Conservation Internship program.

Having grown up in Florida and seeing firsthand the negative impacts that climate change has on the sunshine state, Isabella is passionate about community-based solutions, such as Dream in Green's WE-LAB workshops, to effectively combat climate change. Isabella is drawn towards work in environmental advocacy and ecosystem conservation, and began to search for opportunities where she could work to encourage environmental awareness in local communities with an emphasis on environmental justice.
