Announcing the Winners of the Mayor's Challenge
Dream in Green partnered with the City of Miami and Mayor Francis Suarez to bring to the community the Mayor’s Challenge. This special initiative called upon K-12 City of Miami schools to create Public Service Announcements (PSA) about the health of Biscayne Bay.

Winning videos highlighted multiple threats to Biscayne Bay while offering solutions that the City and its residents can make today.
Past Events - April 2021
On April 7th, Ocean Conservancy staff and Dream in Green hosted a virtual panel about careers in STEM, with a focus on environmentalism. Students were able to learn about OC staffs' higher education and career paths, learning that many do not end up in the positions or even fields they set out to join after high school. Panelists answered questions from attendees as well as offering up advice and opportunities to launch their careers in STEM.
On April 10th, Dream in Green invited high schools students, teachers and partners to virtually attend a Youth Eco-Summit. Students virtually shared their projects and green initiatives at their schools including gardens, aquaculture facilities and clean up events! City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez also joined in to announce the winners of the Mayor's Challenge! We also highlighted the Design & Build Competition winners.

Curtis + Rogers is at the forefront of the sustainable design movement. Their designs propose specific resilience and adaptation strategies to minimize a project’s impact on the environment and reduce its vulnerability to climate change related events. They are currently working for the City of Miami on the Adaptive Redesign of Jose Marti Park. Jose Marti Park is highly vulnerable to the widespread impacts of climate change. Curtis + Rogers’ design explores ways in which the park can minimize tidal flood impacts to the surrounding neighborhood, adapt to sea-level rise, and enhance waterfront access to residents through a participatory design process.
