We're Changing the Game!

Dress for Success Phoenix and the Phoenix Mercury come together to EDUCATE, EMPLOY and EMPOWER Female Student-Athletes from Valley High Schools

Last week, Dress for Success Phoenix and the Phoenix Mercury hosted girls basketball teams from Cesar Chavez High School and South Mountain High School as part of our Teen Workforce Initiative program.

This was an unforgettable day filled with stories of encouragement and empowerment.

The day began with the girls receiving a behind-the-scenes tour of the Footprint Center, home of the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury. This was followed by a Q&A with staff from the Phoenix Mercury, where attendees learned the ins and outs of working for a professional sports team.

The afternoon continued with the girls getting exclusive access to shoot on the same court as Phoenix Mercury legends such as Penny Taylor, Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner. It was truly a dream come true.

Lastly, and most importantly, the girls participated in a variety of job and education-focused workshops, helping them score big in life as they pursue career opportunities.

All of this culminated with the teams and coaches cheering on the Phoenix Mercury to victory against the Dallas Wings as they secured a spot in the WNBA playoffs.

If you would like to help us continue providing these life-changing experiences that will help women on their journey towards economic independence, please consider donating to Dress for Success Phoenix today. Thank you!
