A Reason To Celebrate

When my eldest son turned 10 years old, I couldn't believe a decade had zoomed by. I felt like it was only yesterday we had brought him home from the hospital in his little blue onesie, hat, and booties. He looked like a tiny doll that day. I had no idea what I was doing, but promised him I'd be the best mommy I could. When his 10th birthday arrived, my son's excitement was through the roof. There is just something about no longer being a single digit that made him start acting and feeling a little more grown up. We started treating him more like a grownup as well.
Here at Dress for Success Southern Nevada, we are experiencing a similar mix of excitement and nostalgia as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary. In 2009, Paige Candee and a group of committed volunteers founded Dress for Success Southern Nevada with the mission of empowering women in the Las Vegas Valley by providing them with the necessary career tools, professional attire, and support to get back into the workforce. Our organization has grown up a lot and accomplished amazing things since our inception. We look back at our decade-long journey with pride and look toward our future with passion and excitement, eager to see what beautiful fruit it will bear and lives it will change.
Happy 10-Year Anniversary year Dress for Success Southern Nevada! We look forward to a year of celebrating our past and building our future,

Volunteer Spotlight
Natalie Winslow

Natalie is one of our fabulous stylists. Her favorite part about volunteering is the direct contact and personal touch we give our clients. She sees firsthand how the styling, job retention, and training programs create a perfect trifecta for empowering women. Natalie loves selecting each client's entire look, from suit to shoes to jewelry. It allows her to tap into her creative side and have fun. She says the clients' positive reactions to their experiences are priceless! 

Natalie's most memorable experience was suiting a former social worker. The client explained that in her earlier career, she was the one on the serving end and how it felt so good to have someone helping now, in her time of need. Natalie said the client teared up and had so much gratitude for our services. In her exit interview, the client wrote, "totally lost with words to describe my happiness." It's these little vulnerable moments that create change and impact the lives of women.

Originally from California, Natalie moved to Vegas in 2006 where she obtained a degree in Apparel Manufacturing and Management from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandise and a Nevada Real Estate Brokers license. She is employed full-time as the Director of Operations for a commercial mixed-use property and has an amazing hubby, two kids, and the sweetest Maltipoo puppy, Paisley.

When Natalie's not suiting clients at our boutique, she can be found doing DIY home improvement projects, hosting parties, creating graphic designs, studying photography, traveling, bikini bodybuilding, practicing Pilates, and enjoying game and movie nights with her family. 

Natalie is known around town as the Cotton Candy Lady because she owns a gourmet mobile cotton candy company called Twirl Cotton Candy which satisfies her creative soul. Currently, Natalie holds the title of Mrs. Summerlin and will be competing in the upcoming Mrs. Nevada-America pageant. 

We are blessed to have this highly motivated and passionate woman working with our clients. Thank you Natalie!
Get To Know Our New Volunteer Development Manager
Lisa Teigen

We brought Lisa on to manage and oversee all aspects of volunteering at the boutique and special events, including recruitment, management, training, retention, and acknowledgement.
Prior to working with Dress for Success Southern Nevada, Lisa worked with Opportunity Village and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She has extensive experience in event management, development, community outreach, and sales. She has also worked many wonderful years in the food and beverage industry here, in our awesome Las Vegas valley. 
Lisa shared that volunteering with Dress for Success Southern Nevada in 2010 changed her life and planted the seed of volunteerism in her heart. She currently volunteers as a grief group facilitator for children at Adam's Place, A Grief Center for Children.

Lisa is the lucky mother of three amazing grown children and a sweet little pup. She is a lover of life and Las Vegas. Lisa absolutely loves to hike all around our valley, golf, and engage in just about any activity that gets her outside. Add family, friends, and great music to the mix, and Lisa is one happy woman.

Dolores Campuzano-Pignatello
Executive Director of Banquet Operations and Property Ambassador for Community Involvement for the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas
Fashion Show Committee

Dolores has worked in the Hospitality/Food and Beverage Industry for over 22 years. Prior to the Cosmopolitan, Dolores was with MGM Resorts International for over 15 years at 3 of their Luxury Properties (Bellagio, Mandalay Bay and The Mirage). Other previous employers include Pebble Beach Resorts, Hard Rock Resorts and Walt Disney World Resorts.

Dolores has lived in Las Vegas for over 29 years. She is a Basic Academy of International Studies High School Graduate and participated in the first Latino Youth Leadership Conference from the Latin Chamber of Commerce. Dolores obtained a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration at UNLV, as well as studied Hospitality courses abroad for various semesters. She went through the very distinguished Disney University Program and received certified training in Business Etiquette.

Dolores is an MGM Resorts International Leadership Institute Alumni and a Leadership Las Vegas Alumni.  She was also heavily involved with the MGMRI Diversity, Sustainability and Philanthropy Initiatives for a decade. Dolores was a member of the Mandalay Bay Green Advantage Team, member, co-chair, and chair of the Mirage Diversity Council, Chair and member of the MGMRI Hispanic/Latino Network Group, member of the MGMRI Professional Women's Network Group, and co-chair of the MGMRI CSR Joint Council.

Dolores currently sits on the Boards of The Women's Chamber of Commerce of Nevada,
The WCCNV Legacy Foundation, The Congressional Award of Nevada, The Nathan Adelson Hospice Hispanic/Latino Advisory Board, The Nevada State College President's Advisory Board as well.

She is married to Joseph Pignatello and is the proud third parent of six incredible children (Joey, Kati, Zach, Joshua, Nina and Tony) and three fur babies - Gatsby (poodle), Louie (Yorkie), and Tiffany (Chuihuahua).

Christine Mojer
Assistant General Manager of the Las Vegas Aces
Marketing and Public Relations Committee
Christine Monjer joined MGM Resorts International in November of 2016 through the Executive Associate Program, working in the Corporate Entertainment Division. Six months later, she was named the Executive Director of Entertainment Marketing where she was responsible for overseeing the marketing plans for concert tours, residency shows, festivals, award shows, and sporting events throughout MGM Resorts' Las Vegas venues, including T-Mobile Arena, Park Theater, MGM Grand Garden Arena, and Mandalay Bay Events Center.
With the purchase of the WNBA franchise, Monjer was responsible for the creation of the brand identity and marketing for the Las Vegas Aces. At the conclusion of the team's inaugural season, Monjer was named Assistant General Manager of the Aces, and she now oversees the entirety of the team's business operations, including ticket sales, marketing and community relations.
Prior to making her mark on the Entertainment Capital of the World, Monjer worked at PepsiCo in Chicago as the brand manager on the Quaker Oats hot cereal business. There she led Quaker's largest consumer-facing promotion in the brand's history, Bring Your Best Bowl, and was responsible for the activation of the brand through sports partnerships with the NFL and MLS's Chicago Fire. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Christine was a retail buyer working at Macy's Inc and United Colors of Benetton.
Monjer attended the University of Miami, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2006 with a degree in business management and organization. She went on her to earn her MBA from Cornell University's S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management. 

Sharry Quillin
CFO, Quillin Advertising, Marketing and  Public Relations and Social Media  Marketing
Public Relations Committee Chair

Sharry Quillin serves as chief financial officer and media strategist at Quillin Advertising, Public Relations & Social Media. A leader both in the workplace and community, Quillin is a well-respected entrepreneur with a successful track record of producing outstanding client results. 

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Quillin opened her own insurance agency at the age of 19. Called Pioneer Insurance, it provided property, casualty, life, and health insurance. In 1996 after 15 years in business, Quillin sold her agency and worked full-time for Rapport Leadership Training as the national sales director. In 1998, Quillin went to work at Quillin & Co. Advertising as media strategist, where she was responsible for planning and placing millions of dollars in national and local media.

Quillin co-founded Q Advertising & Public Relations alongside husband, Tim Quillin, in 2001. Quillin Advertising, Public Relations & Social Media boasts a vast array of clients across multiple industries including automobile, healthcare, financial, gaming, housing, retail, fashion, architecture, law and non-profit. 
A proud graduate of UNLV and avid proponent of community involvement, Quillin currently sits on the Board of Directors of Grant a Gift Autism Foundatios as well. In addition, she actively supports the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, Little Black Dress Club, Nevada School of the Arts and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Foundation. She has been involved with United Way Women's Council, American Heart Association's Circle of Red, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada (past board member), Woman's Club of Summerlin, Senior Law Program, Lied Animal Foundation, Heaven Can Wait, and the American Lung Association.

When not crunching numbers and placing media for clients, Quillin can be found enjoying time with her four dachshunds and one chihuahua.

Ho Ho Horrible Sweater Party

Joy, merriment, and philanthropy were in abundance at our annual Ho Ho Horrible Sweater Party! Thank you to everyone who came out in their horribly festive sweaters to Tommy Rocker's to support Dress for Success Southern Nevada. We hope you enjoyed yourselves just as much as we did!

Little Black Dress Club Mixer

Thank you to all our Little Black Dress Club members who joined us January 30th for the Past Present Future Little Black Dress Club Mixer! We enjoyed an intimate evening at Shiraz Las Vegas munching on lite bites, sipping cocktails, networking, and taking a look at where we started, where we are, and where we're going!
