President’s Message

We love Dressage at Devon - but the show would not be possible without you. Our sponsors, vendors and volunteers make it happen.
If you would like to be a part of one of the nation's premier dressage shows, there are a variety of ways you can help. Many are listed below. Please take a few minutes to review this list.

Volunteers Needed!

Whether you have a couple of hours or more, we'd love your help. Here's a list of positions - there's something for everyone! Bring a friend!

Hospita lity

DAD requires nearly 200 volunteers to provide various levels of support. As a volunteer to the hospitality committee’ you will help set the tone for a world class experience. We are looking for warm and courteous delegates that share in our enthusiasm to provide courteous and continuous service to a host of international and national judges, announcers, show stewards, veterinarians, audio engineers, competitors, sponsors, vendors, awards committee, and other dedicated professionals that make our show possible!
Volunteers are needed for all shifts and will help manage morning, afternoon and evening service of beverages and light fare. No cooking required.


*Scribe - Writes judges comments on scoresheet. (please check website for requirements)
Runners - from scribe to scorer and from scorer to office.
Steward and Assistant Steward in Dixon and Gold Ring - Oversees rings and warmup to insure safety and smooth flow into and out of the ring. Must have previous experience as a ring steward at a breed show.
Band Check - 1 per ring - Checks armbands of handlers/assistants as they head for ring
White Board - 1 per ring - Keeps whiteboard updated with numbers of horses and their order of go
Dixon Gate and Gold Ring Gate - Opens and closes main gate to Dixon Oval for horses to enter and exit
Secretary’s Assistant - Assists in the Show Office
Area Cleanup - Keeps warmup and public areas free of manure
Volunteer Room - Assists in check-in of volunteers, answers questions, helps keep volunteer table and supplies organized, helps keep volunteer whiteboard up to date.
Crowd - Assists security people in keeping path clear from warmup to ring
Awards - Assists in pinning horses for Awards Ceremonies
Souvenirs - Assist at Souvenir Booth
Tickets - Assist at Ticket Booth
Coffee Cart - Handle distribution of coffee and pastries
Extra - minimum of 2 per shift - Be able to replace/spell other volunteers, take water, etc to other volunteers, run errands as necessary
