Emily earned her Bachelor of Science in Equestrian Studies through the University of Findlay, with a minor in Business Management. She has worked with horses at all levels in their training – from green through Grand Prix – and in many disciplines, including dressage, hunter/jumper, breed shows, western, and eventing. Emily believes that riding across the disciplines has helped her understand horses a little better. Emily says, “There is so much to [dressage] other than riding, and I want to always be around these amazing animals and make them proud.”
Emily has achieved her USDF Bronze and Silver Medals and is currently working towards her USDF Gold Medal on her self-trained horse, Coulee Bend Kahlua. She trains primarily with Francesca Nicoletti, but has also worked with Michael Barisone, Lendon Gray, Courtney King-Dye, Scott Hassler, Jeremy Steinberg and George Williams.
Emily has participated in The Dressage Foundation’s International Dream Program and has worked at the Hannover Verband in Verden, Germany, helping prepare their horses for the November auction. In addition to riding, Emily also has her certification in Equine Massage Therapy and Rehab.
When asked about Emily, her trainer, Francesca Nicoletti, writes, “she has the talent and most importantly the integrity that our sport strives for.”
Congratulations to Emily!
