Greetings Dreuxites! 

I hope all of you are well and getting ready for Spring and warmer months ahead. 

This newsletter has information about the next reunion in

St. Charles, Missouri. The reunion is in conjunction with the Brat’s Gathering so those of you that went to different schools overseas may be able to reconnect with other alumni from those schools as well as classmates from Dreux American High School. Although other school alumni will be there, we will have our own hospitality suite for Dreuxites so there will be plenty of time for interaction as in the past. 

Earlier I asked for input for the next reunion and several of you responded that you wanted a reunion in the central United States. St. Charles is not smack dab in the center of the United States but pretty close and I hope it will accommodate those that wanted something

more central.

Our last reunion was in October 2024 when 30 of us cruised along the Seine from Paris to Normandy and back; and several Dreuxites even followed the river boat along the way and met up with us on land excursions. It was a wonderful experience being in France, but the highlight was connecting with classmates. Meeting with classmates has always been a highlight of our reunions, and one that many look forward to. A common comment I have heard over the years is “This is the first reunion I attended and did not know what I was missing. It is great to see old friends.”

The reunion in St. Charles will be our 13^th reunion and my hope is that it will provide the same connections with old friends, the opportunity to make new friends, and will allow many that have not attended one of our bashes before to experience the joy of being a Dreuxite! I want to thank the entire board for working to make this reunion possible, especially our Reunion Chair, Helen (Council) Miles.

As usual, we will also have a short business meeting to decide on where and when the 14^th reunion should be and vote on officers. So, please come with suggestions of where and when our next reunion should be and if you have any ideas for officers, please send them to me so we can have a full ballot to vote on. I look forward to seeing many of you in the center of the good ole USA.

Full Reunion Registration Fee - $175.00 per person (if pay by June 1)

Hotel Room Rate - $179.00 plus taxes

St. Charles is about 24 miles from St. Louis for those are flying.

Note: For those that do not wish to go on the optional tour, we will most likely have a casual dinner on Friday evening.

We are planning to have our own Hospitality Suite separate from Overseas Brats as we have in the past when joining Overseas Brats

In addition we will be scheduling a Dreux Alumni Association Business Meeting during the Reunion. The exact day and time has not yet been determined (but it will not be on Friday since there are people that might want to do the Optional Tour)

Just a head's up! The Dreux AHS website is still accessible but I am having issues with updating it! I have been in contact with the person who hosts the site for us, but so far a solution has not been found. Lori, who went to Ankara American HS, and has done a great job for us for many years at very little cost, uses a company in California that has a huge servers and up until January 2 there were no problems. The California fires, which I believe started around January 7th, caused some issues with their servers. I had no idea and when I tried to update the website a bit later in January, it would not work and I was getting error messages. Lori contacted them but so far it's still not working and I haven't been able to connect with Lori in a while.

If anyone has any experience with updating a website using FTP (File Transfer Protocol), please let me know. Surely we have some computer whizzes out there!

I will keep everyone updated as to when I can upload new content to the website. For now, Facebook and the newsletters will be the best way to keep in the loop.

Sadly, since the last newsletter in December, we discovered the loss of some of our fellow classmates, some lost more recently and some several years ago.

Dues are $40/yr and are based on a calendar year. You can pay for one year or for multiple years if you would like to do so.

Remember that you can pay dues by using a credit card through PayPal. Just visit our Dreux AHS website at www.dreuxalumni.org and click on the Dues/Donations button and you will see the Dues menu for PayPal.

Dreux American High School was open from 1960-1967. The first graduating class was 1961. The school closed in January of 1967. We have a very active Alumni Association. There have been 12 reunions since that first get-together organized by Reunions Unlimited in Dallas in 1993. The last reunion was held in October of 2024 in France. Upcoming Reunion is in St. Charles, MO - October 2-5, 2025!
