Brad and Doug: Teamwork on the Site

Volunteers Making a Difference

There are two special volunteers we'd like to callout this month: Brad Griffith, Habitat board member and General Contractor AND Doug Atterbury, a previous volunteer, who has picked up his hammer again for Habitat.

We're thrilled because, Brad, a GC with decades of experience, brings the skills and know-how that come with his trade. Plus he's always believed in (and has witnessed) how powerful homeownership can be for a family. So at least once a week, he’s putting that belief into action.

Doug is pitching in after being away from volunteering for a while. He’s worked on Habitat builds before—at Maloney Court and Civic Field—and is happy to be back. Doug knows Harry, the site lead, from those past projects. The two work together like a well-oiled machine.

If you’ve ever thought about helping out, now’s the time. Sign up to volunteer and join the crew.

Making Homes Safer: Ron’s Story

The unsafe wiring and outdated wall heaters in Ron's home weren't just an inconvenience; they were a hazard. Living on a fixed income and managing disabilities, Ron couldn’t take on the repairs himself. Before he passed, Ron's father had always maintained their home.

Katie, Ron's niece, reached out to Habitat Clallam to see what we could do. Thanks to Habitat’s Critical Repair Program and the skilled work of Johnson Electric Company, old heaters in the living room were removed, a dangerous bathroom heater was replaced, and faulty wiring was fixed.

Ron’s niece shared, “Everything went perfectly today. We enjoyed working with Dan at Habitat, and the team from Johnson Electric was so nice...thank you!”

These repairs don’t just ensure Ron’s safety—they provide him with peace of mind. Your support makes moments like this possible.
