Drip GRIP: NOTICE OF RULEMAKING AND PUBLIC HEARING: Oklahoma Water Quality Standards and Implementation
The Oklahoma Water Resources Board ("OWRB") is proposing to amend various provisions of Oklahoma's Water Quality Standards codified in Oklahoma Administrative Code ("OAC") Title 785 Chapter 45 and 46.  The text of the proposed amendments may be reviewed at the OWRB's office location at 3800 North Classen, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, or may be viewed on the OWRB website at .  The individual document links are below.

The proposed amendments to Chapter 45 include, but are not limited to: Revision to the water quality standards variance process to provide an effective standards tool. Moreover, the site-specific criteria language is revised for clarification. The selenium criterion for the protection of the Fish and Wildlife Propagation beneficial use is revised in order to incorporate new scientific information regarding the toxicity and bioaccumulation of selenium in aquatic life. Revision to Appendix H corrects a site location legal description in the Arkansas River Alluvium aquifer.  

PLEASE NOTE: New & Updated Human Health Criteria are no longer proposed as part of the 2019 Water Quality Standards rulemaking.  

The proposed amendments to Chapter 46 include, but are not limited to: Implementation provisions for the updated selenium criterion. Updates and clarification to the use support assessment protocols.
