Attention all generous Whitmanites.
You all know who Donnie Westhaver is from his involvement with the town over decades.
Donnie started the Whitman Toy Drive eighteen years ago, Whitman Wheels for Disabled Vets and Citizens, he also started/organized in 2005 the Whitman VFW Men's Auxiliary to Post 697, which later became the South Shore Veterans Assistance Group. Donnie also is a past Commander of the Whitman Legion Post 22, SAL, past Grand Night of the Whitman K of C. Donnie retired Superintendent of the Whitman Department of Public Works.

On August 31, 2017 Donnie underwent spinal fusion surgery. Due to complications during surgery Donnie, unfortunately, is now a quadriplegic.
A fundraiser has been put together in his honor by myself, Linda Griffin, and Sue DaSilva. We are looking for raffle donations. We are trying to raise money for MOBILITY EQUIPMENT for Donnie that he desperately needs for everyday life. We need help from all of you!!!
The fund raiser will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitman VFW Pavilion. Tickets are $15.00 per person, $25.00 a couple. They will be sold at the door or by contacting Linda Griffin at 781-733-4370 or Sue DaSilva at 617-922-9404. All raffle donations contact Linda or Sue. Updates to follow.
Let's show what a great community Whitman is by rallying around one of our own that has given so much.

About 71% of the Earth's surface is covered with water, 60% of the human being is made of water (the brain and heart are 73%).

So... its no wonder we respond so strongly to rain, to oceans & ponds and rivers - like a song calling us home on a cellular level, those droplets speak to our very soul.

"I will do water - beautiful, blue water." ~ Claude Monet

"Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time." ~ John Lubbock

"It seems very safe to me to be surrounded by green growing things and water." ~ Barbara Kingsolver
We can get by without a lot of things... water is not one of them.

Litter control is a HUGE part of taking care of our water close to home. Please do your part. ~ Jacquie
