Oakland County Transportation  Updates

RCOC  will be removing and replacing the concrete roadway at the intersection of 12 Mile and Novi Road. On Novi Road, the roadway will be replaced approximately 50 feet north of 12 Mile and approximately 250-feet south of 12 Mile. The project will also include sidewalk ramp and pedestrian signal upgrades. The project will occur in two stages. During Stage 1, the outside lane of 12 Mile will be open in each direction and only right turns will be allowed from southbound and northbound Novi Road. During Stage 2, one inside lane of 12 Mile will be open in each direction. Novi Road will be completely closed north and south of 12 Mile Road. Project will start on Monday, June 17. Traffic control and electronic message boards are already in place. Early on Monday morning, they will set up all the barrels for a traffic switch and begin sawcutting and removing the existing concrete.

The contractor has several shafts constructed for proposed sanitary manholes along Nine Mile which has choked the roadway down to one lane in several areas. Area residents and motorists need to use caution when driving in these areas. Open cut sections, west of Garfield Road, are expected to begin in late June.

The City will be performing rehab on 30+ storm sewer manholes located within the South Lake Drive roadway from 13 Mile Road to West Park Drive. No detours will be used, but motorists can expect delays as the contractor moves along the roadway. Project is now expected to start July 8.
