E-PASS is warning customers about a scam involving fake text messages and emails claiming you owe toll payments. These messages are not from E-PASS and are part of a nationwide scam monitored by the FBI.

How to Stay Safe:

  • Do not click on links in unexpected toll payment messages.
  • Watch for urgent requests demanding immediate payment.
  • Only trust official E-PASS communications.

E-PASS will never ask for sensitive information via text. If we need to reach you, we will send a letter to your address on file, notify you through your online account or the E-PASS Toll App, or email you from e-pass@cfxway.com or donotreply@cfxway.com.

At CFX, we have been busy getting our expressways ready for the conversion to cashless tolling. In 2024, we removed the coin machines from our toll plazas and continue to move to cashless collection at our ramps system-wide. In fact, since the launch of E-PASS in 1994, we have been upgrading our technology and enhancing our system for seamless, convenient, and efficient travel for our customers.

Why is this happening?

The transition to cashless tolling across the state of Florida and nationwide is part of a global evolution of the tolling industry to reduce congestion, save time, and enhance safety.

What does this mean for me?

By the end of 2025, toll roads in Central Florida will fully transition to cashless tolling, also referred to as all electronic tolling. This provides a hassle-free way to pay tolls without stopping. Instead of slowing down or waiting in line, all drivers continue at highway speeds while tolls are collected electronically. There will be two way to pay, the payment options on toll roads will be via E-PASS transponder (or a compatible transponder) or Pay By Plate.

If you are an existing E-PASS or Pay By Plate customers, not much will change.

If you prefer to pay tolls with cash, we will still have payment options for you. Learn more here.

Southport Connector Expressway Alternatives Public Workshop

More than 100 community members joined us recently at an Alternatives Public Workshop to learn about the Southport Connector Expressway Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study. CFX is proposing this 15-mile corridor as part of a regional transportation solution to address traffic congestion in the fast-growing Poinciana community.

CFX shared the latest expressway and local road improvement information and received community member input during virtual and in person meetings on March 11 and 13, 2025. The Southport Connector Expressway would extend from the Poinciana Parkway along the median of Cypress Parkway and continue east to Florida's Turnpike and Canoe Creek Road.

The project would provide more reliable travel times, enhance emergency response and evacuations and support the business community by reducing the challenges of late employees and deliveries.

Engaging the Community in St. Cloud, Harmony and Beyond

More than 330 community members participated in CFX's virtual and in-person Public Workshops for the State Road 515 Northeast Connector Expressway Phase 2 PD&E Study in Osceola County. The meetings were held to provide the public with opportunities to learn about the latest corridor options for a new expressway that would connect Florida’s Turnpike with US 192 and the future SR 534.

The Northeast Connector is designed to provide additional east-west routes within the project area; promote regional connectivity; maintain consistency with long-range transportation plans; enhance mobility of the area’s growing population and economy; and provide for the incorporation of transit options.

Additional public engagement opportunities are planned later this year and in 2026.
