At CFX, we have been busy getting our expressways ready for the conversion to cashless tolling. In 2024, we removed the coin machines from our toll plazas and continue to move to cashless collection at our ramps system-wide. In fact, since the launch of E-PASS in 1994, we have been upgrading our technology and enhancing our system for seamless, convenient, and efficient travel for our customers.
Why is this happening?
The transition to cashless tolling across the state of Florida and nationwide is part of a global evolution of the tolling industry to reduce congestion, save time, and enhance safety.
What does this mean for me?
By the end of 2025, toll roads in Central Florida will fully transition to cashless tolling, also referred to as all electronic tolling. This provides a hassle-free way to pay tolls without stopping. Instead of slowing down or waiting in line, all drivers continue at highway speeds while tolls are collected electronically. There will be two way to pay, the payment options on toll roads will be via E-PASS transponder (or a compatible transponder) or Pay By Plate.
