OCTOBER 2024 | ISSUE 105

As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of E-PASS, we’re proud to reflect on three decades of service to drivers in Central Florida. Since day one, E-PASS has been committed to putting customers first by making toll travel more convenient, affordable, and efficient.

E-PASS was the first electronic toll pass in the state of Florida, and today, our legacy of innovation continues as we provide more product choices to meet your needs. Our Uni portable now works seamlessly across 19 states and is also available in black to blend effortlessly into your windshield. Our college-branded GatorPass, KnightPass, and NolePass allow you to drive with pride, while our E-PASS sticker is completely free.

No matter which pass you choose, with E-PASS, we make it easier for you to save more with each trip. We guarantee E-PASS customers always pay the lowest toll rates in Florida and we offer volume discounts for frequent users.

This anniversary also highlights our ongoing dedication to customer satisfaction. There’s a reason we have a 97% customer satisfaction rating - we’ve built one of the best customer service teams in the industry, recently earning the national Customer Value Leadership Award from Frost & Sullivan.

As part of our commitment to making things easier for our customers, we now offer toll passes on Amazon, allowing you to get E-PASS where you shop online. In addition, we’ve launched a dedicated business account support team. And that’s just the beginning, we look forward to continuing to serve drivers throughout Central Florida in the coming years.

CFX IS COMMITTED TO MOVING POINCIANA

The Central Florida Expressway Authority’s Move Poinciana initiative is a transportation solution for local Cypress Parkway traffic and regional connectivity through the Southport Connector Expressway. Our commitment to connecting the community includes an investment to widen Cypress Parkway to six lanes, enhanced safety and improved traffic flow at intersections, and trails for pedestrians and cyclists.

You can watch a video on the Southport Connector here.

All the solutions are intended to benefit everyone whether they are traveling locally to businesses along Cypress Parkway or longer distances through the Southport Connector Expressway. CFX is committed to being a good neighbor to Poinciana and has implemented a number of updates to the proposed project based on community feedback.

The SR 429 Capacity Improvements Project is Making Great Progress

CFX is on track to complete the 13-mile SR 429 capacity improvements project from Tilden Road to SR 414 by next summer. This project expands the critical north-south expressway from four to six lanes, enhances drivability and the overall driver experience, adds Flex Lanes, and will help keep pace with the rapid regional growth.

Lane closures and detours are often necessary to make the expressway improvements to ensure a better and safer driving experience. As CFX continues to upgrade and modernize SR 417 and SR 429, we also perform maintenance and other enhancements to our entire system of expressways.

Your safety and that of our construction workers is our number one concern. Here are some valuable safety tips for drivers during road work, maintenance, and emergency repairs.

  1. Reduce your distractions: Dedicate your full attention to the roadway and safety devices. Focus on the road – not cell phones, the radio, or food, and ask others in the car to do the same.
  2. Speed limits decrease: Pay attention to temporary speed limit signs. Reduced speed limits are designed to protect our customers and the men and women working on our expressway system. Always slow down further as you approach workers.
  3. Keep your distance and be courteous: Maintain a safe distance - up to three car lengths - between yours and the vehicle ahead. Avoid aggressive driving behaviors such as speeding and weaving in work zones.
  4. Detour with caution: Follow detour signs carefully, watch your speed along alternate routes, and stay alert for local traffic and pedestrians.
  5. Watch for changing conditions: Be mindful of new traffic patterns in construction zones and keep a sharp eye on signs and other safety devices.

CFX is dedicated to the safety of our customers and work crews when making system improvements. Please follow these helpful work zone safety tips, so everyone gets home safely.
