Increasing Access to Finance for Small Businesses Across Central America
DFC CEO Scott Nathan recently traveled to Honduras, where he joined government officials and businesses to advance private sector-led development in the country and across Central America.
While in country, CEO Nathan showcased DFC’s investment support for Banco Lafise, which is advancing on-lending to small businesses and entrepreneurs in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development. DFC is working with several additional partners, including the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, to advance economic growth and stability in the country.
CEO Nathan traveled to West Africa where he signed a commitment letter to advance financial inclusion in Nigeria as well as met with DFC clients and government officials in Sierra Leone.
DFC’s Chief Development Officer Andy Herscowitz highlights how DFC’s participation in the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment will advance high-quality infrastructure projects.
Together with the Department of State, DFC hosted a business roundtable focused on supporting companies that are founded by, owned by, or support persons with disabilities, helping advance inclusive development.
Featuring remarks by Congressman Meeks and Senator Warner and in partnership with the African Diaspora Network, DFC hosted an event to educate potential clients on how to access DFC support for their businesses.
DFC’s investment in Chiratae Ventures International Fund IV LLC is helping finance multiple technology companies including Agrostar, which offers an agri-tech platform to support farmers in India.
