Big Fishin'!
Fishing Trip Success
Greg Hale and Eric "Moose" McLaren got to enjoy a fishing excursion over the weekend with Fishing Pro Chris Adams (thanks to Brennan Watkins, who gifted his June contest prize to them), and they had an exciting day on the water.
Moose (left) and Greg show off one of their big catches of the day
Chris filled us in on their eventful day:

"Got out for a day of fishing on Lake Bomoseen with Greg and Moose. We had a great time and they were awesome guys to fish with. We caught quite a few nice fish, but some of the real big ones eluded us! About mid-morning Greg hooked into an absolute Lake Bomoseen giant and he fought it for a while - he did a great job. The fish surged under the boat a few times and the line may have hit some rocks on the bottom or had been frayed and the line snapped. The agony of defeat! I saw the fish in the crystal clear water and it was well over 5 pounds - a real trophy. One of the bigger fish on Bomoseen I've seen in a while - who knows how much it would have weighed, but it was a big one!"
"We finished the day with a flurry of other catches, as well as Moose catching the big fish of the day which was around 4.75 lbs - another beautiful Lake Bomoseen Largemouth Bass."
"All in all, a great day on the water with two terrific guys. I may try to connect with Greg again to get out on the water down the road to see if we can't get a little redemption on the 'big one that got away!'"
-Chris Adams
Tournament Update
Chris continued his strong season in the Major League Fishing Toyota Series on Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh, New York, finishing in 26th place out of 220 professional anglers. Chris unfortunately missed the Day 3 Championship round (by just 2 ounces!), but had a great tournament, caught some really nice fish and finished with a paycheck.
Chris weighed five fish for 19 lbs.1 ounce on Day 1, and 18 lbs.11 ounces for his five fish on Day 2. The tournament saw record weights and ounces separating dozens of places in the standings. For perspective, Chris' two-day total this year would have been over a pound above the Top 10 cut weight in this same tournament last year!

Flu Season is Right Around the Corner
In-house clinics will be back this year
Casella Construction will be holding in-house flu clinics in Pittsford again this year - for employees and their family members. VNA nurses will be on-site to administer the flu shots. Remember, the flu is classified as "preventable" so the flu shot is covered by insurance.
Stay tuned for more flu clinic details in next week's newsletter.
Safety Topic: Power Line Safety
Last week VELCO held a summit with speakers who discussed safety around power lines. The best way to avoid getting electrocuted from a power line is to not go near them, whatsoever. However, depending on the task and jobsite, that may not always be possible. Safety precautions should be taken whenever you are working around power lines; please review them below.
