Dear sisters and brothers in Christ Jesus, part of a growing repentance remnant globally,

To address the catastrophic drought in the Western States of the USA, to build up His Bride in the process, to call on His Word for His Solution, 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, NDR invites you to join us on a 40 day "repentance journey."

This is day twenty seven in our journey. Join us even if you are beginning today. Each day starting Saturday August 7 we have posted a sin which the Lord would have us confess and remove through personal repentance. God willing, these 40 days will lead us to the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur September 15.

This process is taking place during the month of Elul, a period of reflection, introspection, and repentance before the Days of Awe. The shofar is sounded in each morning’s prayer service during Elul as a call to repentance. It’s believed that in Elul, Adonai forgave our people and relented from destroying us. Elul is also a time to contemplate G-d’s lovingkindness and forgiveness. The hebrew letters that spell the month Elul - אלול - stand for “I am my Beloved's, and my Beloved is mine.” According to Jewish tradition the King is in the field during Elul and this is the season to meet Him there.

Today the sin is sloth.

There's a SPIRITUAL DROUGHT in every nation on the planet. We are not yet honoring the Authority of the Risen Christ that He revealed in Matthew 28:18: " ALL authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."

In the USA our Western States have been especially rebellious, promoting increasingly abominable laws contrary to His Word. Thus the drought that He has allowed so that we will repent and come back to Him. 2 Chronicles 7: 13-14:

When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, IF My people who are called by My Name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, THEN I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

It's not enough just to pray. Prayer is powerful, but sin blocks it. : "If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear." Psalm 66:18 " Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you so that he does not hear." Isaiah 59:1-2:

Join us on this repentance journey, regardless of your location! Even if you're not in a Western USA State you will be blessed as an intercessor. For those of us in Western States we have a goal of reaching 57,000 believers in Christ, 1/10th of one percent of the 57 million residents of Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico and Oregon to repent and pray for God's Solution.

By joining, you are already a prayer warrior. We suggest adding to your prayers time to confess one or more sins each day. Have the Holy Spirit guide you in every step. Ask the Risen Christ to "dine" with you. By spending time with Him, He counsels us to be zealous to repent and thereby become overcomers. (Revelation 3:19-21). You may also want to fast as is prudent for your physical condition; you may also want to spend extra time in worship each day.

Although these are serious sins, let this be joyful experience. As with Nehemiah building the wall, the joy of the Lord is our strength. As we remove remnants of old sin strongholds, more Holy Spirit fruits shine through our vessels, including love and joy. The Risen Christ, as the Helper, will join us, and go ahead of us and make the Way straight. Hebrews 12:11 says: 'Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it."

Day twenty seven focuses on sloth. It is a sin, as set forth among other scriptures in Proverbs 6: 6-11: " Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest. How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep--So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man."

What is the replacement for this spirit? Using daily repentance to find your unique calling by Christ Jesus: " You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you." John 15:16. " These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full." John 15:11.

The spirit of sloth may be the result of a generational spirit, or a vow or practice you made as a child, a way of thinking that you've forgotten, and are not aware of today. Take time with Him today, the Helper, the Teacher, the Author and Finisher of your faith. Ask the Holy Spirit Helper if you have this spirit of sloth in you. Where did it first surface? How does it show up in your life today? If you acknowledge that sin, and confess it to Him, He will forgive you ~1 John 1:9. You then will have the free will choice to repent, to turn to His Way, renouncing and removing the old sin pattern, replacing it with His Word as your new path to His Purity.

The Lord, Who is returning soon as our Bridegroom, will bless this forty day process. His Word will wash us each day. God willing, this will be the first of other repentance projects, in this and other nations, putting His Solution into practice to get ready for Him. We will be cleansing as His Bride, getting ready for Him as were those wise virgins, Matthew 25: 1-13.

Elijah was a man like you and me. And he gives us an example of spiritual dedication:
" Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruits." James 5: 17-18.

In 1 Kings 18:42 we read: " So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees."

May that be our humble position, with our Helper, during these forty days also.

We welcome your testimonies as to this repentance journey, and will honor your anonymity if you wish.

God bless you,

Pastor Jeff

A calendar of the 40 days and the sins are on the ending drought website. Each of the 40 sins is listed on the 40 day repentance devotional posted on the endingdroughtgodsway.com site. Do you see repentance as vital for our times? To our knowledge National Day of Repentance is the only Christian ministry focusing solely on personal and national repentance in every nation and applying it in our lives.

No church, no denomination supports us, only YOU! Though we work as volunteers, costs and requests for food pour in each day far beyond our capacity to fulfill these requests.
Would you please pray for us? And then give from a cheerful heart as the Lord leads? THANK YOU--whatever the amount you give, you'll receive a blessing--- 2 Corinthians 8: 2-4 and Luke 8:3--- and Fruit that will abound to your spiritual account, Philippians 4:17.

God bless you.

It's private, but as anyone wishes to share, the fellowship builds and the LOVE and fellowship surfaces exquisitely. Please join us! email our volunteer, Susan Hammer, for the password:  hammersusan1@gmail.com.

"The Gift of Repentance" a half hour TV program can be seen on kqsl.org Saturday mornings 9:30 Pacific. This was a recent show:
