Does Your Business Need Certificates of Origin?
A Certificate of Origin (CO) is a document attesting that goods exported in a shipment have been wholly obtained, produced, manufactured or processed in a particular country. COs may be requested by customs administrations, importers, freight forwarders or banks for clearance of letters of credit. 

We have the opportunity to get our members a reduced rate on COs; if you currently require them or may in the future please let us know.

Thank you to all who attended our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, March 22 at the Badlands Community Facility. Congratulations to our newly elected directors - Joanne Contenti of Scotiabank, Barry Fullerton, Joanne Hodgson of Fountain Tire and Roger Stevenson of ProPlan Financial Group/The Co-operators. Also on March 22, the provincial government released Budget 2018-19. Our counterparts at the Alberta Chambers of Commerce (ACC) had much to say about the budget. For comments from Ken Kobly, President and CEO of the ACC, check out his YouTube video. The Alberta Chamber also released a business alert regarding the budget, which highlights many red flags with the budget.
On March 19, we were pleased to host an Employment Standards Information Session in partnership with Alberta Labour. Representatives from the government provided a great overview of the changes to the Employment Standards Code, as a result of the Fair and Family-friendly Workplaces Act which came into effect January 1, 2018. Spring is upon us! Well at least that's what the calendar says! Here at the Chamber, we are finalizing details for the 4th Annual Spring Expo tradeshow. Plan to join us the weekend of April 20-22 at the Greentree Mall to check out the wonderful variety of vendors and entertainment we have booked this year. We look forward to seeing you there!

Also with the arrival of spring, it is time to start thinking about spring cleaning. The Town of Drumheller will be having its annual Spring Clean-up from April 30 - May 10. For more information, contact the landfill at 403-823-1345 or public works at 403-823-1330. Let's do our part to keep Drumheller clean! By keeping our storefronts, parking lots, parks, yards and walking trails free of dirt and debris, we can ensure a beautiful community for all to enjoy.

Celebration of Excellence Nominations Open

The Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce, Drumheller Rotary Club and Town of Drumheller are pleased be joining forces on Friday, June 15, 2018 to co-host the Celebration of Excellence at the Badlands Community Facility. The celebration will honor individuals and businesses for their achievements and contributions to the community. Together the group will present a total of twelve awards, including:
Rotary Awards: Most Courteous Employee, Citizen of the Year, and Male and Female Athlete of the Year;
Town of Drumheller Youth Leaders of Tomorrow:  one  award for students in grades 7-9 and one for students in grades 10-12.; and 
Chamber  Business Excellence Awards- Small and Large Business of the Year, Most Promising New Business, Arts, Culture and Community Award, Diversity Leadership Award, and Business Professional of the Year Award.
