FROM THE DIRECTOR

As Drumm finishes construction on two new houses next month, we are excited to be in the process of identifying new families to join our community. Each family will care for 6-8 children and increase our census to more than 50 living on campus. There are so many people to thank, especially Joanne Cable and Summit Custom Homes, for helping Drumm build new housing for kids for the first time in more than 40 years. This comes as the number of children abused, neglected, homeless or aging out of foster care has reached historic highs in Jackson County and the greater metropolitan area.

The families living here are truly missionaries. Great people providing great parenting with great supports defines the Drumm community. If you have an interest in being a resource (foster) family or know someone that has a passion for changing the trajectory of a child's life, please contact us at www.drumm4kids.org or call 816-373-3434 for more information.

Keep reading to see stories of how your continued support impacts everything we do here at Drumm Farm.

Best Regards,

Brad Smith

FAITHDrumm Farm Students Design Christmas and Thank You Cards

Drumm Farm launched a new tradition in conjunction with our annual Christmas  lighting ceremony.  A Christmas card and Thank You note contest were held during the week of Brainfit Camp last summer.    Brainfit Camp was offered to all students on campus K-8 th grade and featured classes in science, art, and cooking with farm foods.  Students worked several days, sketching and designing their cards for the contest.  Many students even took their designs home to work on them beyond the course of the camp day.   Four students were recognized for their original artwork for Christmas Cards and four students were honored for the Thank You note designs.  Congratulations to Faith Nimmo, daughter of Jeff and Patti Nimmo, who was recognized for her original Christmas card design. Faith's artwork was chosen as Drumm's official Christmas card this past year.  Notecards are for sale at the Drumm Farm Market.
