Illinois Launches
Face Mask Awareness Campaign
Gov. J.B. Pritzker has launched a new $5 million public awareness campaign to encourage everyone to wear masks or face coverings. The advertisements use the tagline: "It only works if you wear it."

This campaign initiative compares masks to safety measures people follow everyday, such as seat belts in cars, bicycle helmets, life jackets and other items in their life-saving capabilities.

A toolkit is available for download and can be shared on social media, websites and other digital platforms. To view and download the toolkit, visit\

Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) is Assisting Households
Impacted by COVID-19
Families that have been unable to pay their rent due to COVID-19, can now apply for financial assistance through IHDA. Funds are limited so families are encouraged to complete an application as early as possible. Only one application per household is allowed. If approved, families will receive a $5,000 grant that will be sent directly to their landlord to be applied
against their rent.

During this time, it is still important to continue paying as much of the rent as possible. In addition to talking to the landlord on a regular basis about the situation.

  • What is the definition of an outbreak in schools?
