Assembly Bill 28 Signed into Law


An unfortunate bill that adds an additional tax on the sale of firearms and ammunition was signed by the governor this week. CWA is highly disappointed with the passage of AB 28. Click here to see our full statement.

Rice Levee Program Enrollment Open



The Rice Levee Program pays rice farmers to provide waterfowl nesting habitat on the levees, in planted rice fields, during the spring and summer. The construction of levees in the spring eliminates vegetation and provides little to no nesting cover for local breeding pheasants and waterfowl. A BIT OF GOOD NEWS FOR LOWER KLAMATH AND TULE LAKE NWR



California Waterfowl’s effort to secure water for Lower Klamath Refuge continues to press forward. Water acquired by CWA as part of a 3,750 acre-foot water rights purchase began again flowing into the refuge on September 18th despite flowage restrictions placed on neighboring Klamath Drainage District and the larger watershed.
