We want to hear from you!

As a California state agency guided by an appointed council, public participation is fundamental to the Delta Stewardship Council’s efforts to achieve the coequal goals for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta – a more reliable statewide water supply and a resilient Delta ecosystem – in a manner that protects and enhances the unique characteristics of the Delta as an evolving place where people live, work, and recreate.

We’re in the process of updating our Public Participation Plan – and we want to hear from you. Our goal is to ensure that the engagement process is open, inclusive, and accessible to everyone.

Please take a few minutes to complete this brief survey (available in English and Spanish) by October 13, 2025, to share your thoughts on how we currently engage with the public and how we can improve. Para responder a esta encuesta en español, haga clic aquí.

Your input will help us better understand your needs and improve the way we serve our communities. Survey results will be shared at a future Council meeting so you can see how your feedback directly shapes our approach to public engagement.

Thank you for taking the time to participate!

Please note that survey responses are not confidential and may be disclosed under the California Public Records Act.

Public Participation Plan

About the Public Participation Plan

Endorsed by the Council in June 2020, the Public Participation Plan serves as a guide for how any interested party, regardless of background, location, ability, or status, can pursue opportunities to inform Council decision-making. The Council recognizes that the possible effective mechanisms for public participation are not “one size fits all” and may vary depending on the particular issue. This plan is reviewed and revised periodically to ensure it reflects current best practices.

About the Council

The Council works to advance California’s coequal goals for the Delta. We carry out this mission by implementing the Delta Plan, an enforceable long-term sustainable management plan, to ensure coordinated action in the region at the federal, state, and local levels.
