In an effort to be proactive in protecting the health and safety of our patrons, staff, and community during the COVID-19 outbreak, North Kansas City Public Library will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, March 16, until further notice. This includes the suspension of all classes, activities, meeting and study room usages, and outreach services.
This was a difficult decision. However, as we reviewed the information from public health officials, and in response to confirmed cases in the greater Metro area, we opted to close out of an abundance of caution. During this time, we ask that you do not return your library materials.
Your items will not be marked overdue, nor will you be billed.
(As a reminder, NKCPL no longer charges any overdue fines.)

Again, we are deeply aware of the vital role that libraries play in the community, especially in difficult times, and so the decision to close, even temporarily, was not reached lightly. We appreciate the support of our customers and our community during this challenging moment--and we look forward to opening our doors again just as soon as we are able.
