Martha's Vineyard Community Services
ON ISLAND is a grassroots movement to proactively embrace positive change by facing the growing challenges of substance use on Martha's Vineyard. The mission of ON ISLAND is to encourage a community-led response to reduce substance misuse and de-stigmatize addiction, as well as prevent or delay first use among Island youth while recognizing the imperative to give a voice to those directly affected, providing access to available support resources, and inspiring others to help.

The MV Substance Use Disorder Coalition spearheads this effort in partnership with the Public Good Projects (a national public health communications organization) and support from Peter and Elizabeth Tower Foundation and MV Community Services

To get involved, visit the ON ISLAND website.
Vaccination Information
If you believe you're currently eligible to receive the vaccine, here's how to make an appointment at Martha's Vineyard Hospital:
  • Review the "When Can I Get A COVID-19 Vaccine" page on the mass.gov website to determine eligibility (graphic below). When you are eligible, complete the sign-up form at the MV Hospital website (MV residents and seasonal residents). You will receive your appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine via email from Martha's Vineyard Hospital. If you feel more comfortable completing the registration form in person, you can do so at MVH (at the front desk) or one of many community organizations (Councils of Aging, Libraries, etc.).If you are a caregiver of a person 75 or older (not a licensed caregiver), please fill out and submit the COVID-19 Massachusetts Vaccination Attestation Form on the mass.gov website—you will receive an email from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health confirming your eligibility. Please forward the email confirmation to [email protected].
Please see the current state phases of vaccination below, but note that this is an evolving.

  • IMPORTANT - To Patient Gateway patients only: You may receive a message through Patient Gateway that suggests the Mass General Brigham will be suspending its vaccination program in the near future due to a lack of supply.  PLEASE NOTE - this message DOES NOT apply to Patient Gateway patients at Martha's Vineyard Hospital. We will continue to receive vaccine supply from the state because we are recognized by the Department of Public Health as a rural vaccine delivery site.
  • As doses of the vaccine become available, you will be notified of appointment details by MVH either by email or by phone.
This is a scam! Watch out for it.
Out-of-state companies continue to prey on unsuspecting homeowners by sending a direct mail solicitation asking them to send a check for $83/$95 to receive a copy of their deed or other assessment information.
These notices are sent out as “Recorded Deed Notice” and request that the homeowner sends them a check for a copy of their deed and “property assessment profile.”
This is a scam!
Please note you may obtain a certified copy of your deed from the Dukes County Registry of Deeds at the cost of $1 per page. You may also access our records at no cost by going to masslandrecords.com. For assessment information, you may contact your town assessor's office.
