Second-seeded Duluth East will host No. 7 Anoka in a Section 7AAAA high school boys basketball first-round game Saturday at 1 p.m. If the Greyhounds advance, they will host the winner of the Forest Lake vs. Cambridge-Isanti winner in a semifinal Tuesday, March 23. No. 1 seed Andover has a first-round bye.

No. 2 Duluth Marshall (12-4) will host No. 7 International Falls (1-13) in a Section 7A high school girls hockey quarterfinal at 6:15 p.m. today at Mars Lakeview Arena. The Hilltoppers are led by senior defenseman Maren Friday, a Union commit, and elite forwards Emilia McGiffert, Danica Mark, Meredith Boettcher, Ilsa Lindaman, Kendra Royer and Katina Thorson. Senior goaltender Charlesa Prior is 13-1 and allows 1.21 goals per game and boasts an eye-popping .933 saves percentage. The 7A semifinals are scheduled for Thursday and the championship Saturday, both at the home rinks of the highest ranked teams.

UMD COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS
The Master of Professional Studies in Multidisciplinary Research & Creativity (MPS), within UMD's College of Liberal Arts, is designed with the working professional in mind as all core courses are partially online and meet in the evenings. This masters program can expand your intellectual, creative, and professional horizons while sharpening your research skills and building your capacity for socially conscious leadership. 

The program consists of three core courses, 18 credits of individualized coursework, a capstone project, and an oral exam. Students of this program work with an advisor to identify the focus of their graduate work. Some examples of areas the Master of Professional Studies in Multidisciplinary Research & Creativity students have focused on include sustainability, indigenous studies, innovative leadership design, and health & well-being. The deadline to apply for Fall 2021 is April 15th.
