Painting complete -- next steps are flooring and trim-work around doors and windows.

Plumbing complete, and water heaters are underneath to provide more indoor space.

Digging a trench for the second cable and installing an additional transformer.

These provide for more power around ring road -- energy efficient water heaters and other needs.

This project is funded by the Capital Campaign and the Southface Good Use Grant.

Message From A Mountain Supporter

The first time I came to The Mountain was in 1999, when my daughter participated in a Social Justice program, sponsored by her high school.

I didn't return until 2005, when I attended my first UUWomenspirit event. I fell in love with UUWomenspirit and also with The Mountain. I have rarely missed another UUWomenspirit event there for the last 20 years. UUWomenspirit was founded 38 years ago and has held every one of our biannual events at The Mountain.

For most of our members, being at The Mountain is just part of being at our events. It's a "coming home" every time! When our event was canceled last fall, because of Hurricane Helene, we were heart broken and wanted to do something to help The Mountain recover the lost income. We're happy to have raised a nice donation which is now being used for some of the renovations and repairs. I'm excited to see all the upgrades when I come to The Mountain in May, and pleased that UUWomenspirit could help keep things rolling along into the future.

I'm also glad I was personally able to contribute to the ongoing health of The Mountain and encourage anyone of you who loves the beauty, the magic and the spirit of The Mountain to give your support in any way you can. Together we can all work toward bright days ahead for one of our favorite places.

In February, the Emerson and Athens Unitarian Universalist choirs met at The Mountain to learn and share amazing music.

Emerson UU has enjoyed this annual event for the past 19 years.

While here, they made a generous contribution to support our Capital Campaign projects, enhancing guest accommodations and programs.
