We are delighted to announce that John DeFerrari and Douglas Peter Sefton, the authors of the new book, 16th Street NW: Washington, DC's Avenue of Ambitions will regale us with stories of the ups and downs of the buildings along the street. Books will be available for $25 for signing by the authors. To ensure we have enough books, please reserve a copy by emailing DCCA, and bring cash or check to the meeting.

🚨 Special Pre-Meet Opportunity to Tour Congressional Club

Those who arrive early are in for a special treat - a tour of the First Ladies Gown Room at the Congressional Club which houses four foot high replicas of the inaugural gowns worn by every First Lady since Abraham Lincoln along with other historic treasures.
Early birds get the worm - be sure to arrive by 6:40 to enjoy!

DOEE has a list of electronics that can be recycled and those that are hazardous and should not be placed in the trash. The electronics can be dropped at RFK on their recycling schedule or at eCycle events that are closer to home (and conveniently, close to a few city farmers markets!).

Spend your day with the DC History Center at the Carnegie Library annual community day, learn all the latest DC History Center happenings, play, learn, explore and met your neighbors while you eat, drink, and shop local. You can explore the DC History Center, listen to pop-up talks, preview a family history research exhibit and get creative at craft stations. Mumbo Sauce Hits the Big Time

Locals know all about our secret sauce but the word is out.
On October 9th McDonalds will begin featuring the sauce as one of their options. While they have taken some license with the spelling they are committed to delivering - the release date national promotion of DC's sauce will include a documentary short about its origins.
Special sauce, lettuce cheese, indeed!
