Members Resolution Vote
At Monday's meeting, we had a presentation about the proposed upzoning of 1617U site and a lively discussion of the issue. Attending DCCA Members passed a resolution calling for DC not to sell or lease the land and to keep the zoning as MU-4. Many speakers also expressed the desire to keep the police and fire stations at this site. The presentation and resolution are can be read here.

DCCA will present this point of view at the November 20th zoning hearing. In the future, we will also facilitate discussion of any proposed disposition of the land and Request for Proposals that are issued from the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Development (DMPED). This will be a long planning process, similar to what occurred for the Reeves Center, and there will be other opportunities to make your voice heard.
The zoning hearing will be held November 20th at 4:00PM. Click on that hearing to find out how to watch, to read letters submitted for this and previous hearings on this matter, and learn how to submit your opinion for Case 23-02.
