DCCA Mid-Summer Updates
DCCA membership meetings are on summer vacation, but we want to update you on the ongoing activities of the Board of Directors and members.

At our June membership meeting, DCCA passed a resolution opposing the rezoning of the site of the police and fire station buildings at 1617U Street, for a Zoning Commission rule making hearing on June 26th. Thanks to the effort of DCCA Board Director Ed Hanlon, the ZC agreed that this matter should be reconsidered as a contested hearing. Stay tuned for further information about that hearing.

DCCA has protested several liquor licenses over the past several months, working with ANCs and groups of neighbors. In May, DCCA, ANC2C, and residents of the Presidential and Adele Condominiums reached an amicable Settlement Agreement with Barcode. In ANC2B, we have two ongoing protests with Rosemarino D’Italia and Krave, on the 1700 block of Connecticut Avenue, supporting the concerns of DCCA members who live nearby that this block of Connecticut is in danger of turning into “Club Central North.”

In the meantime, if you can stand the heat, get out and admire the parks and gardens that are maintained by DCCA members and other volunteers.
Not yet a DCCA member? New memberships start at just $15.
