Benefits of Microwave Technology
Motion Sensors

Microwave Technology sensors offer advantages over Infrared Technology sensors for outdoor and warehouse applications because they are NOT affected by ambient temperatures above 90ᵒF. Infrared sensors read temperature signatures as people cross activation zones near the sensor. When the ambient temperature is close to human body temperature, the sensor does not see motion. Many outdoor lighting projects in warmer climates require controls to work properly above 90ᵒF. Warehouses without air conditioning also experience these high operating temperatures.

In addition, the sensors can be used for dimming and light sensing for maximum energy savings. To read more about these sensors and their program features, click here.
Playground Lighting

DuraGuard offers a wide variety of lighting suitable for playground and other outdoor recreation applications. The Kitty Hawk area lighting family is perfect for tennis courts and general purpose lighting. Use the Sculptor and Aeroform decorative post tops for parks and playgrounds. Our full line of LED bollards, from decorative to stainless steel, feature optional built-in GFCI outlets for charging your electronics on the go.
