Celebrate Durham Region’s Agri-Food Sector

February 10 marked the 10th anniversary of Canada’s Agriculture Day and we’re celebrating everyone who keeps Durham Region’s agri-food sector growing.

Agriculture is one of Durham’s largest primary goods-producing sectors, with crops, livestock, fruits, vegetables, and floriculture. It’s constantly evolving by embracing vertical farming, biofuels, agri‑tourism, and other sustainable practices.

To everyone working the land and those processing, researching, transporting, and selling what’s produced here, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and innovation.

In the Know: Mental Wellness Training

Farming is demanding work, and mental health matters. Farmers, farm families and anyone who works in agriculture are invited to an in-person mental health training workshop on February 25.

The ‘In the Know’ session at the Scugog Recreation Centre is designed specifically for the realities of farm life. Participants will learn about stress, depression, anxiety, substance use, and how to start a conversation about mental well-being.

Presented by Agriculture Wellness Ontario with the support of the Durham Agricultural Advisory Committee, attendance is free, but space is limited.
