Film And Television Industry Career Fair

With film and TV production continuing to grow in Durham Region and adding to our cultural appeal, Film Durham’s Film and Television Industry Career Fair returns March 10 to showcase opportunities in the sector. 


High school students, post-secondary students, and adults in search of a career change are encouraged to register for this free event which offers a look at over 150 career possibilities, from editing, production sound and cinematography to hair and makeup, props creation and more. 


Meet professionals who work in the field, ask questions, take a film career quiz, and explore interactive displays to find out which roles match your skills and interests. This career fair offers a welcoming space to explore how a wide range of skills can find a place in the industry.

Reach More Visitors: Durham Tourism Event Calendar

Durham Tourism’s online event calendar is a free tool that highlights what’s happening across Durham Region. Featured on select municipal websites and viewed by thousands of people each month, the calendar connects your event with residents and visitors looking for things to do in Durham Region.


Submitting an event is quick and simple: create a profile, add your event details, and once approved, your listing will be shared with a broad audience interested in local concerts, festivals, markets, community gatherings, and more.

Build Skills That Travel

The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) offers an online resource hub that supports tourism businesses by helping to build a skilled and resilient workforce.


Skills That Travel offers curated courses and training streams to help individuals gain practical experience and build their skills at every stage of their tourism career. Support your workforce by encouraging eligible staff to sign up for the free training.



There are also resources for businesses and tourism operators that enhance workplace practices, attract job seekers, and help support career development in your organization.

Create A Tourism Route 

If your business is part of a larger destination and you’re looking to develop a stronger tourism experience, Central Counties Tourism (CCT) offers an exciting opportunity.


CCT’s free, self-paced Tourism Route Development Course shows you how to collaborate with other businesses to create engaging routes, themed trails, and multi-stop itineraries that attract more visitors and encourage longer stays. With real-world examples, practical tools, and a bonus lesson on adding events, the course is designed to help you strengthen visitor experiences and build meaningful connections.

Ajax is spreading the love through its Love Letters for Local campaign. Throughout the month of February, the Town of Ajax is inviting people to celebrate the local businesses that make its community vibrant, diverse, and delicious by tagging and mentioning their favourite Ajax restaurants on social media for a chance to win weekly prizes.
