Stories from the Downtowns of Durham
Downtowns of Durham offers residents and visitors a chance to explore the region’s many “main street” shops, restaurants and services virtually. The site also offers stories from local contributors highlighting businesses, exciting events and first-person accounts of cool Downtowns of Durham experiences.
 
“Day Trips for Date Night in Durham’s Downtowns,” “Beaverton’s Buzzing with Ice Fishing and New Restaurants,” and “Want to Support Local? Skip the Delivery Apps and Order Direct” are just some of the recent stories featured!
Art in Durham Region is all around us
PineRidge Arts Council invites residents to "Snap a Selfie" with a sculpture! There are over 70 outdoor sculptures located in outdoor public spaces throughout Durham Region. Snap a selfie with one of the fabulous sculpture forms in your neighbourhood and share your photos on Facebook or Instagram with #SculpturesOfDurham. Selfies shared on Instagram are eligible for a prize. Contest rules can be found here.
 
They are also running a "Pic of the Month" online photo contest. Post your best photo on your Instagram account according to that month’s theme and include #PineRidgeArts to enter to win a prize. Contest rules can be found here.
