Support local farms and producers
Over the last few months, local farms and producers have continued to work hard to provide our community with access to an abundance of high-quality local foods and food products, from beef and lamb, to honey and cider, to fresh fruits and vegetables. Residents have learned more about local food, and found inspiration and joy in tasting and experimenting with fresh, locally-produced products in their own kitchens. Think freshly milled flour to feed your sourdough starter, sautéed ramps and fiddleheads, and crunchy just-picked radishes.

We encourage you to continue exploring and savouring local foods and food products, and to watch our video to learn more about supporting local farms and prucers.
DRIFF starts today!
The Durham Region International Film Festival (DRIFF), from October 1 to 3, offers a unique one-night drive-in experience paired with two days of online streaming and filmmaker Q&A sessions. Check out the full festival lineup and order your tickets!

Ticket options for the festival:

It's apple season!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year — apple season! All you have to do is choose a farm and start picking! Durham Farm Fresh has put together a list of local farms where you can pick and purchase apples.
Celebrate fall on the farm at Pingle's Harvest Festival
There’s so much to do at the farm this fall! Spend the day navigating though an 8-acre pirate-themed corn maze, have some farm-tastic fun in the playland, take in the farm views and fresh country air on a wagon ride, and pick-your-own delicious apples in the apple orchard. Pingle's pumpkin patch is also open and filled with pumpkins ranging in size and colour — from classic orange to white, and pastel peach to green, there is an option for everyone.

If you work up an appetite (or want to treat yourself!), food stations will be serving up different sweet and savoury fall-inspired foods on weekends.

Tickets must be pre-booked online, and spots are filling up quickly! Book your spot before it’s too late.
