Dutch Inspired Intersection Design Test

This Sunday, October 30th

It is BFC's vision for Fort Collins to be the Amsterdam of the U.S. when it comes to cycling. So we are super excited that Montava, the new development being planned for NE Fort Collins is prioritizing walking and biking. In doing so, they want to test a Dutch inspired intersection design. They've posed the question: Can urban intersections be designed in such a way that vehicular traffic, cycling and walking flow smoothly and that the potential conflicts of these very different types of traffic crossing each other’s paths are made less complicated and less dangerous? They believe the answer is "Yes" and so do we, but they need help testing it Check out the video, but come join them this Sunday from 1-3 p.m at Front Range Community College. READ MORE

ICYMI: Fort Collins Gets First Advisory Bike Lane

In case you missed it (ICYMI), Fort Collins' first Advisory Bike Lane opened earlier this month. In the works since 2021, the city had to receive Federal approval, since the facility design is considered "experimental." Subsequently its effectiveness is going to be closely evaluated and its success will be a function of how well it's used as intended. If you're not familiar with these bike lanes, read on or watch--and help spread the word and educate others.  READ MORE
