Update for Wednesday, June 17, 2020
  • In today's (Wednesday) press conference, Governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed that our region is on track to enter Phase 3 on Tuesday of next week. Phase 3 guidance for the food industry and personal care service can be found HERE.

  • Governor Cuomo also announced he would stop his daily press briefings after this Friday (6/19) and move back to a similar schedule of briefings that was in place before COVID-19. We will continue to monitor his briefings and update you with any relevant information.

  • The Small Business Administration today released a three-page “EZ” Paycheck Protection Program loan forgiveness application requiring less documentation and fewer calculations than previously required. Form 3508EZ applies to borrowers who meet any one of these three criteria:
  1. Applied for the PPP loan as self-employed, an independent contractor or a sole proprietor with no employees.
  2. Did not reduce salary or wages for any employee by more than 25%, and did not reduce the number or hours of their employees (excepting laid-off employees who refused an offer to return).
  3. Did not reduce salary or wages for any employee by more than 25% during the covered period and experienced reductions in business activity as a result of health directives related to COVID-19.

  • Form 3508EZ can be found HERE, and an instructions sheet on how to complete the form can be found HERE.

  • A new interim final rule for forgiveness has been published on the PPP as well. That rule can be found HERE.
