Update for Thursday, June 18, 2020
  • In today's (Thursday) press conference, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced he will be signing an Executive Order that will give the State Liquor Authority the power to suspend alcohol licenses of restaurants and bars that don't follow Covid reopening rules. Businesses could also face an immediate shut down order for failure to follow the reopening rules.

  • Governor Cuomo also stated restaurants and bars will be responsible for the sidewalk in front of their establishments. More information will be included in the Executive Order, and we will update you when more information is available.

  • Governor Cuomo additionally said the state would be releasing guidance later today for colleges and universities to reopen in the fall.

  • REMINDER: In order to apply for funds through the Paycheck Protection Program, the bank must submit the loan application to the SBA no later than June 30th. That means if you wish to apply for this program, you must apply through the bank well in advance of this deadline to ensure the bank has time to process your loan before submitting it to the SBA.

  • The list of essential services has been updated by the state. It can be found HERE.

  • Guidance has been released by the state for sports and recreation. This guidance is broken up between low-risk activities that can begin immediately, and "all other" activities that can begin July 6. That guidance can be found HERE.

  • The U.S. Department of Labor will host four webinars to discuss how the Department is helping workers and employers by reducing regulatory burdens and making it easier to understand and comply with the law. The webinars will also provide an opportunity for workers, employers, and state and local governments to ask questions and discuss how the Department can expand and improve access to its compliance assistance materials.
