August Break & Season Recap:

Our mighty Griffins have had a busy year! Practicing hard & seeing the results on the field, working together to build strong friendships & cheering each other on is what makes our club as strong as it is. Both our Youth & Men's Team have made great strides over the past year & we know the Fall season will only build on those accomplishments.

We will welcome lots of new faces in September when our Fall season kicks off. Practices will be added to the master calendar soon on both SportsYou & our Website. Coaches will keep everyone up to date on games schedules, tournaments & scrimmages.

For the month of August, we rest......

Well done to every Dutchess Griffin for their participation & teamwork. Fall is just around the corner....

Men's Team Report

History was made on 7/25!

Our Men's Team had their first epic win of the season against NYPD on July 25th at Gaelic Park! After being forced up into Junior B, Coach Niamh Mangino has been working hard training the men over the past few months to compete at this higher level. Their strength on the field is growing with every team they encounter in the Junior B division.

Most of the men's team games are played at Gaelic Park. It is amazing to see our younger players show up week after week encouraging them on the sidelines & looking up to their heroes. Everyone wants to play at Gaelic Park!

* Must be 17+ to compete in matches, but 16 year olds may train with the men to learn the game, until they are of age.

Irish Heritage Night 8/11

Join the Hudson Valley Renegades x Dutchess County GAA for Irish Night!

The Hudson Valley Renegades will take on the Jersey Shore Blue Claws on Friday, August 11th at 7:05pm at Heritage Financial Park, 1500 Rt.9D, Wappingers NY 12590.

McKeon's 16th Annual Golf Tournament

The McKeon's 16th Annual Golf Tournament is fast approaching. It will take place on August 21st, 2023. All proceeds of this year's tournament will be going toward the Redmond Park Field Development Project.

Similar to the Rockland GAA & Shannon Gaels (Queens NY) GAA facilities, Redmond Park will boast a full-sized GAA pitch & one smaller GAA pitch for minors.

To add some more background to the importance of the feat- the NYMB has never had its own facilities. This is a massive accomplishment to have obtained this licensing agreement with Yonkers & something that will only serve to grow & stabilize the GAA community with an additional Gaelic ground for our kids to compete in, servicing all clubs in the Greater NY GAA community.

Congratulations to Danny Brown & the rest of the NYMB for making this happen. Let's all do what we can to help support this undertaking for our kids who currently play in the NYMB & for those who play for many years to come.

Daltai na Gaeilge Immersion Week

The 2023 Summer Week Immersion Program will be held August 27th to September 2nd in Esopus, New York.

Classes begin early Monday morning and there are classes for students at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels as well as separate classes for children. The schedule may seem daunting, but there is ample time for study, rest and recreation. You’ll hear the “lilt of Irish laughter” often during your stay. Many of the attendees are repeat visitors who find great enjoyment here. So come and “bain sult as”. You’ll be glad you did.

Battle of the Badges &

Kids Fun Run

It's that time again to get moving to end child abuse! The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse is back for it's 4th year hosting its #OneTooManyCPCA5k on September 23rd.

As a Dutchess GAA member, join our team to walk this 5k, led by our very own CJ Tomaskovic and his daughter Grace.

Join our team or donate directly using the link! You may also start your own team & help out this great & worthy cause.

The 3rd Annual Dutchess County Irish Festival

Save The Date! Get Your Tickets Today!

The 3rd Annual Dutchess County Irish Festival is fast approaching!

It will be a fun filled day, packed to the brim with entertainment for all!

Join us at 12pm for our Mighty Griffin Player Parade, led by our youth and men's team players. The first 100 paid tickets through the door will be entered into a raffle!

We will have live music all day long, from The T McCann Band, The Narrowbacks AND The Mighty Ploughboys! The Irish Dance Company will be performing twice along with the Hudson Valley Pipe & Drum Band.

FREE children's activities between 12-4pm will include face painting, crafts and cotton candy!

We will have game demonstrations, raffles, a 50/50 & Official Griffins Merchandise for sale.

We will be joined by almost 40 local artisans and crafters, so you can browse the afternoon away! This is a cash event so please come prepared!

Grab a cold drink from the fabulous Beer & Wine Pavilion & enjoy some great food from Mahoney's Irish Pub & Restaurant, Cousins Maine Lobster & The Waffle Wagon. More food trucks will be confirmed soon. There will be lots of sweets and goodies offered by the vendors so check out our FaceBook Event to stay updated on who is coming!
