A mid-week word from Pastor Jennifer...

Greetings Church Family,

On Sunday, March 22nd, we will begin a new fellowship opportunity called “Get to Know You Lunches.”

Following worship (around 12:15 p.m.), fifteen people will gather in the Wisteria Parlor for Dreamland Barbeque and a time of intentional conversation. While we often greet one another warmly on Sunday mornings, those moments are usually brief: “How are you doing?” “Doing fine…how about you?” “How was your week?” “Good, you?” These lunches are meant to create space for something deeper.

Throughout Scripture, God’s people often grew closer to one another around the table (Acts 2:42, 46; Matt 26:26-26-27; Jn 21:12). Sharing a meal creates space for stories to be told, laughter to be shared, and friendships to grow. Around the “Get to Know You” table, we will have the opportunity to spend time with people we may have sat beside in the pew for months – or even years – but never had the chance to truly know. For instance, perhaps there is someone whose name you know but whose story you do not. This could be the perfect opportunity to sit down together…to listen…to learn…to love.

There will be fifteen seats available for this first lunch, so please be sure to sign up. A sign-up sheet will be available at the donut table on Sunday, and you will also find a sign-up link in this newsletter. If there is someone you have been hoping to get to know better, consider inviting them to join you!

We look forward to sharing this time together as we continue learning what it means to do life together as the Body of Christ. Thanks be to God for the gift of togetherness!

Grace and peace,

Jennifer

P.S. Our hope is to offer these lunches regularly. If you are unable to attend this first gathering, please be on the lookout for future opportunities!

For this coming Sunday's bulletin...

The dates are June 20-25.

The Mahjong for Meals Tournament on Sunday was a huge success!

We are truly grateful for all of our sponsors and everyone who participated. Thanks to your support, it was a fantastic day filled with fun, fellowship, and friendly competition. Together, we also collected approximately 500 canned goods to help support The Joseph Project Food Pantry. What an incredible show of generosity!

This photo shows just some of our Ashland Place family who took part in the tournament—there were many more who helped make the day so special!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported this wonderful event.
