E-Alert – August 4th, 2021

Dear Member

On Tuesday August 3 New Public Health Orders were announced and will come into effect Saturday August 7. We have clarified that these new orders are sector specific guidelines and do not include healthcare settings.

Please Note: There is no change to the current requirement for masks to be worn during entry and while in health care facilities. For more information on the updated orders, please see https://news.gov.mb.ca/news/index.html?item=51998&posted=2021-08-03

At this time, Dentists in Manitoba should continue to refer to the MDA “Pathway and Interim IPC Guidance For Patient Care During the COVID-19 Response” and continue to subscribe to the MDA eAlert system for updates. https://files.constantcontact.com/eea33206301/d1924994-a332-484c-aa81-f3b4b2bf51f1.pdf?rdr=true

Dentists and their teams have managed the pandemic very well and are encouraged to continue to exercise caution.

“Unless you are fully immunized, you are still at risk for more severe effects of COVID-19, such as requiring hospital care or even death,” said Dr. Roussin. “We are slowly but surely approaching a post-pandemic Manitoba, but this does not mean COVID-19 will disappear. We need to remain cautious and vigilant in our efforts to stop the spread of this virus.”

Please remember that the mandate of the Manitoba Dental Association is public protection, that includes our patients and Members. We need to stay the course for a while yet.
