Beloved community of Grace St. Paul’s,

You have been my bedrock these last four years that I have lived in Tucson, and I am honored to invite each and every one of you to my wedding to the love of my life, Ellery Doehrman, at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21st of this year. It will mean so much to me to have your presence there.

The people of Grace St. Paul’s have made my life immeasurably better since I first crossed the threshold in November of 2018, and I am delighted to be celebrating my marriage at our altar and in the sight of our community.

Reception information will follow.

Sincerely,
Beatrice M.L. Washburn
CPR/AED/First Aid Class at GSP
Have you noticed we have an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) in the narthex of the church? Would you know what to do or how to help in a medical emergency?

Come take a CPR/First Aid class at GSP. Desert Fire Department will provide a 2.5-hour class on a Saturday. After completion you will receive a certification card from the AHA (American Heart Association).

Who should attend? Anyone who is interested: clergy, ushers, pantry and other volunteers, and older teenagers.

The cost is $45 payable the day of class. A minimum of 10 people is required for Desert Fire Department to do a training class, so once we have a commitment from 10 people we can contact them for a date.

If interested please contact Jessica Swift or Nancy Moritz.
Opportunities to Put Your Faith Into Action
Hello from the Bread Ministry!!

Hello from the Bread Ministry!! For those of you who might not know what we do. One of our tasks is to pick up the extra bread daily from Beyond Bread, and bring it to Grace St Pauls where it is distributed to folks here at Grace St Pauls, and to additional food banks throughout Tucson. This Bread pick up only takes about 45 minutes and makes a huge difference in our Community.

With summer approaching and other health issues within our team of volunteers, we are in desperate need for pick-ups on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Would one of these days work for you? Please contact Kitt Leonard at 906-1230 if you can help us continue this mission. Training is FREE! And you could start this week! Thank you for considering.
Would you like to be a Reception Assistant
for the Reception Team?

Currently Ann Sunderland & Debbie Tinajero head up our Reception Team. They serve drinks & food for the receptions here at GSP. Sometimes they have a need for many more hands to help serve at a reception.

We would like to have a team of people who could assist as needed. Would you be willing to help serve the drinks & food? You would only be needed maybe 6 times in a year. If you would like to add your name to the Reception Team, please contact Pam Spears in the Church Office, (520) 327-6857 or e-mail [email protected].

Thank you for your consideration.
GSP Shower Ministry

We are looking for shower volunteers
for Wednesday mornings.

Please contact Jessica Swift for
more information & details.
Grace St. Paul's is in need of volunteers to usher at the 10AM service on Sundays. You would likely only be asked to serve one Sunday a month. Ushers welcome people to GSP, direct people to the front for communion, and collect the offering. If you are interested in serving, please contact Steve Streeter. Thank you in advance for your service!
Joseph's Pantry needs Dog & Cat
food on an ongoing basis.
Can you help our furry friends?

You can drop off food on Sunday when you attend worship. Or drop food off in the parish office, Mon-Thu 9a-4p, Fri 9a-noon. You can also order from Chewy.com or Amazon & have the food delivered to the church office.

We thank you in advance for your help!
Blankets, Towels Needed for Homeless Animals

Pima County Animal Shelter (PACC) depends on the community for donations of old or new blankets, towels and pet beds. The need is ongoing and these items are crucial in helping the homeless animals at PACC become more adoptable by providing them with comfort, security and warmth.

Please note: The location of the donation box for PACC has changed; it is now located in the church office! Please place your animal comfort items in the donation box (with the doggie picture on it) in the church office during regular office hours: Mon-Thu, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Fri, 9 a.m. - 12 noon.  The homeless pets at PACC will be so very grateful!

Sponsored by the Animals and Spirituality Ministry.
Our Protocols for Live, In-Person Services

Both Sunday services at Grace St. Paul’s — 7:45 and 10 a.m. — are live and in-person. The 10 a.m. service will also continue to be live-streamed.

To ensure the safety of all present, all congregants must wear a mask, properly worn over nose and mouth. Congregational singing is now allowed with masks on.

Parents, please note. The nursery is staffed every Sunday in the Undercroft for the 10 a.m. worship service. Kids can be dropped off as early as 9:40 a.m. Nursery is for infants to age 3. Kids are welcome to enjoy church with their families in the Sanctuary.

We are a 2022 CORE Grant Recipient!

Thank you to the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSAZ) and the Graydon Ketchum Charitable Fund for supporting GSP this year! GSP is a second-time CORE grant recipient. We are grateful to have received $10,000 to put to good use in 2022! As many of you know, the CORE grant we received in 2021 helped us make our budget and continue to do good work in our community. CORE grants can be used for programs AND operations, something CFSAZ and its CORE collaborators understand is essential to organizational functioning. We are grateful for the support of CFSAZ, the Graydon Ketchum Charitable Fund, and our whole community for striving together for a hopeful future.
Join Dr. John Dore in a free class/discussion/practice group each Wednesday, from 5 to 6 p.m. (MST) on Zoom. The goal is to integrate the deep parts of our self, to become more whole, healthy and balanced in heart, mind and spirit, and to connect with others.

There is a short video on YouTube called "Soul-Tending the Garden: Following Carl Jung into the Tao" which provides more information. Feel free to forward the link to anyone who might be interested. Contact Dr. Dore by email if you wish to join.

Artisans Beyond Borders, (ABB) a bi-national ministry at Grace St. Paul’s, began in 2019 as a way to bring trauma-informed arts and activities to asylum-seekers and their families waiting in shelters and on the streets in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.

Today, therapeutic arts and the dignity of artisanal craft continue to bring comfort to the traumatized and hope to asylum-seekers.

Bordando Esperanza / Embroidering Hope, the flagship program, also helps restore personal agency and income through Etsy shop sales of artisans’ original hand-embroideries.

For more information, please visit the ABB website.
