A Service for Those Who Find This Season Difficult

Formally known as our "Blue Christmas" service. For some, memories of past experiences and the pain of present experiences and situations can become overwhelming. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Eve can be very difficult and a reminder of the challenges in our lives.

Join us for a gentle, calming service of healing and reflection where you will be invited to listen, pray, sing and meditate upon the pain and anguish you may carry. We trust you will find hope and comfort in the discovery that
you are not alone.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed donations and volunteered for this November's Poz Cafe!

It was a huge success, and I would not be able to pull off our part in November's Poz Cafe without all of your help. It truly means so much to me to know how many of you care about helping the HIV+ community here in Tucson, especially when things are so uncertain in terms of medical/healthcare security and widespread financial distress. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Love & blessings,

Ricky Salas

Historic Organ Returns to Grace St. Paul's!

An organ with history dating back to 1891 at Grace Church/Tucson is back with us! As our grand organ awaits repair after an electrical storm catastrophe, we now have a little organ with quite a history!

Hilda of Whitby was instrumental in bringing together Roman and Celtic traditions in the 7th century using her wisdom and leadership. Her life is is profiled in Dr. Chuck Dickson's Virtual Education class: https://bit.ly/4ohJFEQ

The mission of GSP Faith in Action is to offer personal and spiritual support for those of us who are struggling in the current political climate and to encourage faith-filled and appropriate actions as individuals and in collaboration with other groups. We meet in the Bloom Room on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month from 12-1; please plan to arrive and settle in at 11:55 as we begin with prayer and a period of silence. You are most welcome to join us and/or ask to be placed on our email list. For more information,

Bethlehem Olivewood Sale to Benefit Joseph’s Pantry

This Sunday November 30th, we will have a Christmas Market in McBride Hall after each service to benefit Joseph’s Pantry.

Lance and Nancy Brown had figures, creches, Christmas ornaments, cashmere pashminas, and other beautiful items shipped to Tucson following their recent trip to Bethlehem. The purchase of these items specifically benefited the Palestinian Christian community in Bethlehem during a time when their livelihoods are directly threatened by the war in Gaza.

Please come do some Christmas shopping for family and friends while supporting Grace St. Paul’s efforts to serve the unhoused and those for whom food insecurity is an everyday threat.

ALL PROCEEDS will go directly to GSP!

-Thursday, December 4th, 5pm, in the Chancel, a Taizé service on “Advent Is Always”
led by Deacon Nancy.

-Thursday, December 11th, 5pm, in McBride Hall, Spirit Now service led by Reverend Delle McCormick (includes agape meal).

-Thursday, December 18th, 5pm, Zoom-only service led by Chris Eastoe from Tasmania
(zoom link: https://zoom.us/j/948146775).

-Thursday, December 25th: NO SERVICE (CHRISTMAS)

We’ve heard from church members that they’d like a smaller venue – Spirit Now’s answering that call … our services are held in the Chancel, in McBride Hall, or on Zoom, and are building blocks for the larger church to get together and share faith practices in smaller groups. It’s a more intimate place to read and reflect about our thoughts, our church, our communities, and our world.

If you’d like to receive announcements regarding Spirit Now’s services direct to your email, please contact Kim at moanatucson@gmail.com

Every Friday from 12:15pm - 1:30pm in the Bloom Room

** We WILL still be meeting on Friday 11/25 **

Our Centering Prayer group continues to meet every Friday at 12:15 in the Bloom Room for the shared practice of Centering Prayer. Our membership includes people from other faith traditions as well as many GSP parishioners.

The practice of Centering Prayer can be done alone by anyone anywhere, but our members find that being together (even in silence) really makes a difference. Our group is open to all who are in need of some quiet, dedicated time to rest in the presence of God in this busy and uneasy world.

Blessings,
