URGENT Looking for front desk volunteers! If you are looking for a way to volunteer your time with the church, we are in need of front desk volunteers for Monday mornings 9am-12:30pm, Tuesday afternoons 12:30pm-4pm, and Wednesday afternoons 12:30pm-4pm. This is a consistent, scheduled volunteer position, so if you are unable to commit to consistent weekly volunteer shifts, this may not be the best fit for you. Duties consist of answering the phone, helping our guests with their mail and providing snacks when we have them available, describing our Social Services and Joseph’s Pantry programs, and light office work as needed (sorting mail, occasional stapling, etc.) You’ll be trained on everything and there will always be someone else to help answer questions, so don’t feel intimidated. There is usually a good bit of downtime during shifts so some volunteers bring needlework or craft projects to work on, books to read, or do computer work. If you feel particularly called in this area, please reach out to Ricky in the office! 520-327-6857 parishadmin@grace-stpauls.org | |

Thank you Grace St. Paul’s for a successful Joseph’s Pantry fundraiser!!
Loaves and fishes! There were lots of people and loads of food left for us to hand out to our unhoused guests.
Thank you goes out to the many who helped make this a success: Nani Chang, for the amazing recipes and creations, as well as a million other things. Soul Sisters who made this happen, the Young Adult group who added their support in so many ways, and two special couples who know who they are. The kitchen has never been so clean!
The donations will help us continue to live in our mission. We were able to set a special table with cloth, china and a fuller menu for our unhoused friends.
They are why we do what we do!
I have a few opportunities to volunteer if you feel called to offer of your time.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwich making on Thurs from 9am-11am.

PozCafe, TIHAN's monthly lunch for people living with HIV, is an opportunity for the community to get out of the house, meet other positive+ people, and enjoy a great meal! On the third Thursday of each month, volunteers from local faith communities around Tucson get together to serve a fantastic and delicious lunch followed by time to socialize, participate in a game of bingo, enjoy our raffle, and pick up a care package.
Grace St. Paul's is sponsoring November's PozCafe, and we need 6 volunteers who are willing and able to assist with setup, serving, and clean up (about 5 hours total) We are also collecting hand sanitizer (travel size is fine) and bar soap. Items can be dropped off during normal office hours or given directly to Ricky on Sunday.
PozCafe will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church on Thursday November 20th from 9am-2pm.
If you have any questions or would like more information, Please reach out to Ricky Salas at 520-327-6857 or by email at parishadmin@grace-stpauls.org

Our Centering Prayer group continues to meet every Friday at 12:15 in the Bloom Room for the shared practice of Centering Prayer. Our membership includes people from other faith traditions as well as many GSP parishioners.
The practice of Centering Prayer can be done alone by anyone anywhere, but our members find that being together (even in silence) really makes a difference. Our group is open to all who are in need of some quiet, dedicated time to rest in the presence of God in this busy and uneasy world.
Blessings,
Sara Heitshu scheitshu@gmail.com

| As of the end of August, GSP has incurred a cash flow deficit in our operating budget, consistent with our situation from prior years. Typically, we tend to run such a deficit during much of the year, before substantial year-end contributions balance our budget. This year’s deficit sits at around $60,000 (again, consistent in amount with prior years), on a budget of $600,000. While we are not issuing an appeal for additional contributions at this time, it is likely we will need to do so by year-end. And we are grateful to all for the generous contributions that enable GSP to carry out our missions and ministries in these challenging times. | |
We are certainly aware that inflation is impacting people’s personal budgets, as has the unusual economic uncertainty created by the rapid changes in federal economic policies, military interventions in US cities, and immigration crackdowns. While grant funds have become harder to come by recently, we are exercising even tighter restraint on our
expenditures, and we remain committed to balancing our budget this year
if at all possible.
| We welcome questions and comments, and we will continue to update you on our financial situation through the end of the year. | |
