The Rt. Rev. Jennifer A. Reddall, Sixth Bishop of Arizona, will be at Grace St. Paul's on Sunday, May 5. This will be her only visit in the next two years. Fr. Steve encourages everyone to come and meet the new Bishop of Arizona.

Here is her schedule of the Day:
  • 7:45 a.m. Preach at First Service
  • 9:15 a.m. Meet with the Confirmands in the
  • Bloom Room
  • 10:00 a.m. Preach at Second Service

Bishop Reddall has designated Sunday,
May 5, as Alleluia Fund Sunday throughout the Diocese. On that day, churches and parishioners are asked to support the Alleluia Fund for the important work of planting new Episcopal congregations in Arizona, as well as supporting existing congregations with special grants to help them grow. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity. You can visit the Alleluia Fund webpage at: www.azdiocese.org/alleluia/index.html
We invite everyone to bring a favorite dish to Fellowship on Sunday to share.

We will also need some volunteers to step up and help serve the food at Fellowship time. Also we'll need a few folks to help clean-up after the Bishop's Forum.
Welcome Dinner for our Newcomers
will be Saturday, May 11, at 6 p.m. in McBride Hall. If you are new or were
unable to come to our last one in Nov, please know you are invited.  Come join
us for dinner and a meet and greet!!

Please RSVP with the office, 520-327-6857.
Preparing for the End of Life

We live in a culture that doesn’t like to think about death or grieving, and that’s understandable. But it’s important to be prepared.
These classes will help us to better prepared spiritually and also make practical plans.
Adults of all ages are welcome to attend this free course. Join us on four Saturday mornings (10:30 am-12:00 pm) in May and June 2019.

Please join us on May 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bloom Room for the First Friday Play Reading. This month we present a mystery. This mystery is an original script (or short scripts) by a Tucson playwright. As negotiations are still ongoing as to the exact work to be read, at this time no advance details are available about the script. In the past we have read several original works by Tucson authors; this reading should prove to be as interesting as previous ones. The Q & A sessions after these readings are especially enjoyable, opportunities to offer comments to, and discuss directly with, the author of the play.
Joseph's Pantry provides showers on Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
They are in need of towels.
The towels can be used or new.

Thank you very much for
your support of Joseph's Pantry.
Sharon McKenzie and Halsy Taylor are the facilitators, both long-time theatre aficionados. The script is suitable for mature teens and older persons.

There is no admission charge, however a donation of canned food such as hearty soup, ravioli, chili or tuna for the Joseph’s Food Pantry at Grace St. Paul’s would be greatly appreciated.

NAME TAGS ON SUNDAY MORNING

NAME TAGS really help Everyone!!  Please request a new one at the Welcome table OR find yours that got stashed somewhere.
Spouses of same-sex couples have been disinvited to attend next year’s (2020) Lambeth Conference, the once-every-ten-years gathering of bishops of the Anglican Communion, while spouses of mixed-gender couples are invited. For details, see the link below, to the Episcopal News Service release on the issue.

What are the implications for Grace St. Paul’s as an inclusive and welcoming community? Should we accept this directive as part of the process of discernment for those Anglican communities who condemn same-sex marriage? Or should we lodge a community protest, perhaps encouraging other Episcopal congregations to join? Should we go slow? Or act up?
GSP conducts a congregation-wide discussion on Wednesday, May 1, at 6 PM in the Bloom Room.  Advocates of all points of view are welcome.

Photo Directory Sessions Continue

Sessions for photos for GSP’s new photo directory are continuing each Sunday in May, with the exception of Memorial Day weekend, May 26. The “photo booth” is set up in the Social Services office from about
9 a.m. until 12 noon. Subjects are able to see and choose pictures at the time of taking.
This is a completely in-house production. There is no cost and no sales pitch, and the digital image files will be provided on request.
The directory will be published as a PDF, which will be made available to everyone who wants one. Print-on-demand physical copies can be arranged through a third-party provider.
Additional photo sessions can be arranged on alternate days or locations if needed. Please contact John Banks through the Parish office to make those arrangements.
Do plan to have your picture taken and included in our new directory. It’s a good way for us all to get to know each other!
