MUNICIPAL PRIORITIES FOR 2022 AND BEYOND

STRATEGYCORP REPORT

StrategyCorp Cover.jpg

Since 2016, StrategyCorp has conducted an annual survey of municipal Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) and City Managers from across Ontario, seeking their opinions on the most pressing issues in the municipal sector. Here are our findings from 2022.

We interviewed CAOs from municipalities of all sizes across Ontario, from upper-tier, lower-tier and single-tier municipalities.  We conducted the interviews for this survey in late 2021 and early 2022. It was a time when summer’s public optimism that the pandemic might have run its course collided with the renewal of lockdowns and the Omicron variant.

This report is a snapshot of what the leaders of Ontario’s municipal sector are thinking at a critical time in Ontario’s history.  Download the full 2022 report.

CAMA'S CAO EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT TOOLKIT "KNOWING YOUR WORTH"

CAMA's CAO Employment Contract Toolkit provides many tips to Chief Administrative Officers in the negotiation of their employment contracts. Today's tip is about "Knowing Your Worth".

Knowing your worth is a tricky concept. This is not so much about your own confidence, but more about your marketability for the role. Our toolkit provides you with some questions to help guide you in understanding your negotiating position better.

Understanding what you value, and your personal worth will assist you in your decision-making process right from the moment you apply or respond to a posting.  A move in your career may not be in your personal best interest if you value time and a less stressful work environment. While at first your self confidence and ego may get a boost from the opportunity to take on bigger and better things, do not be afraid to walk away if the offer does not meet your personal and professional expectations.

For more information on this topic and to view the Toolkit visit the Member's Toolkit Section.
