Member Spotlight
How long have you been a member?
We've been Chamber members for a couple of years. We were invited to a Business After Hours and joined shortly after that.

What is your favorite aspect of being a Chamber member?
I enjoy Business After Hours because it allows a casual environment where everyone can spend some time together and get to know each other. Meeting community members and learning how we work together to make it a great place to live is very interesting. At one of the mixers I won a $500 blender!

Intrastate Trip to SW Florida Scheduled
Monday, July 29 - Wednesday, July 31

The Chamber coordinates important “best practice” visits to areas to discuss common issues and opportunities. Attendees are those who work on area initiatives and want to see first hand how a community has successfully implemented change and improvement.

This year’s trip will remain in the state and travel to SW Florida, visiting Bonita Springs and St. Petersburg, to see an example of a “collaborative” community hub, hear discussions on smart growth and see the efforts of a redeveloped waterfront downtown. Interested in going? Space is limited.

Centennial Celebration
A Century's Worth of History
In 1953, the Chamber began to focus heavily on converting tourists to residents, specifically targeting retirees. During this time, the Chamber ran ads promoting not only the local churches, schools, and entertainment options, but also the air quality and climate of Daytona Beach, which allowed for better respiratory health. Ads informed tourists, “You’ll live 10 years longer in Daytona” and “Those who live here get more out of life!”
